I've wondered this many times Sarah sort of seems like a bitch or has a bitchy personality. Like she never appears on featurettes, DVD interviews (except the season 5 A&E interview), she never appears in audio commenteries like nothing. I know she's a professional actress and all but she just seems like a hard person to get along with ya know what I mean?

I recall her stating that she was simply very busy and wanted to spend her free time with her family. Perfectly understandable.
I never have gotten a bitchy vibe from her. I think she's professional, which some people don't understand I think.

As for the DVD stuff, is it stuff they filmed during the show or after it was over?

I think most of it was during... I remember listening to a season 4 commentary and they mentioned they were currently filming season 6
Oh no, that's just her being professional. Trust me, she definitely lightens up when Joss says cuts. Watch these bloopers (Yes, Sarah's actually on bloopers!). She curses up a storm. 😛

awesome
I also worked with the Doublemeat Palace lady lol, and she went on and on about how Sarah was the "cheerleader" for the rest of the crew, trying to keep them all up and happy during the long shooting days. 🙂

Really?? Oh so cute!! 🙂 🙂 I actually think that SMG is a great and cheerful person, she just wanted to keep work and private life separated.

No, I don't. I don't know if I'm affected by the fact that I've been her fan for many years, but watching interviews and dailies, I think she's extremely cute and positive. And she has a big and ditry mouth too, but she has a very big sense of humor. She even imitated Spike's walk once after James did it 😀 She seems to make the entire cast and crew laugh.

About the DVDs, you also must remember that she's the biggest star out of the cast of the show, which means she's a lot busier. I do think she could have at least make a little effort for at least one little things though.

Well, if these things were filmed while the show was being filmed, it's a time thing. EPK (what they call the interviews) are a HUGE pain in the butt, and they always want time the actors don't usually have. So SMG might have been lucky and because she's in so much of the show she got out of doing it.

I'm not saying I don't understand her, I said it myself that she's very busy. I just think it's too bad
There was one point where I would have sworn up and down that she was just this awful person, and I didn't like her. At that point, though, I was rather young. I don't hold the same views of her now, and I think she is misunderstood by a lot of fans.

I, like others have stated, think she is just a consummate professional. I think, just like anyone else who works, views her job as well...Work and her home life as well..her home life. The only people who get scrutiny for this are those in the limelight, and I don't think that's necessarily right. They are making a living doing what they love to do and are good at, just like everyone else. I have a high level of respect for people in the media who are able to keep their work and their private lives separate, and not constantly have to feel like they have to mold them both together.

That said, I DO think that she could have, and SHOULD have done more interviews and commentaries; Unfortunately, if you look at other movies or TV shows, the lead actor/ress rarely seems to participate in these. That can't be a case of every single lead everywhere having a constant case of bitchiness.

It's not really up to them. They can try and get out of it, but usually, if the producer wants them there they're there. And for that many seasons, they would have cornered her at some point if it was at all possible. So I'd say it was the tight filming schedule and she just didn't have the down time on the days they were there filming. Because they always come on big days because that's what they want to show, but that is incredibly hard on the people trying to get real filming done lol

That's true, it would have been nice to see her more, but I see your point. Didn't she also have some kind of physical training that she had to keep up with as well, so she could do things they couldn't use a double for? Maybe I'm remembering wrong.
You know, once I read an article about her, and one of the commenters to the article said that who cares about that shallow slut, all she cares about is clothes and guys.

Clearly people judge her without knowing her, or just from looking at her. Whoever knows her, knows that she's nothing from the above.

I don't know for sure, but it's very possible. There are very distinct rules about actor schedules - they can't just keep her an hour later to do interviews without it having lots of ripples elsewhere. There are rules about how long you can work an actor, and how long you have to give that actor once you dismiss them before you can call them back to work again. So if they can't get to an interview during down time during the day, there's really no other time to do it.

🙂

I think it's all too common that in the workplace, when a woman wants to focus and is not constantly horsing around and goofing off with her coworkers, she is seen as a snob and potentially a bitch. I think that is what is going on here, (not directing this at anyone in particular but I just think it's the reason for whatever negative sentiments there might be about her).

Also, she might have requested that her bloopers don't appear on the DVD, (maybe she even had it in her contract). While that might make her appear more cold and less able to laugh at herself, I'm sure the truth is that she doesn't happen to consider it professional. Bad dalies belong on the cutting room floor and the whole world shouldn't have to see her screwing up. I saw in a James Marsters interview once, a fan brought up some dalies that surfaced on youtube. JM was shocked and horrified, (there aren't bloopers of his on the DVD either). So clearly he feels the same way she does. I think it's great that the other actors were willing to so openly share their screw ups with us; it's a lot of fun to watch. But I don't hold it against them for not wanting to.
