as per the wikipedia's definition
Internaut is a term for a designer, operator, or technically capable user of the Internet.[1] Beginning with participants in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), it gradually expanded to members of the Internet Society (ISoc) and the larger community.

An internaut is cyber-slang for an online veteran who is familiar with the Internet as an entity, and with cyberspace in general. The word is a portmanteau of Internet and astronaut. Other terms roughly analogous with internaut are cybernaut and netizen, though each has its own connotation. The common thread among them, however, is an implication of experience and knowledge of the Internet or cyberspace that goes beyond the casual user.

An internaut is online savvy, normally through years of online experience, with a thorough knowledge of how to use search engines and search strings, Internet resources, forums, newsgroups and chat rooms to find information. The more someone knows about the Internet, its history and politics, the more likely the term internaut fits them. The less he or she knows the more likely a different term would be more fitting.

I'm actually not THAT into technology. I pretty much get on the net to look up history stuff, get on here and facebook and deviantart. And to read a ridiculous amount of fanfic. 😛

That's about all I need.

So I guess my answer is a big NO. 🙂 I have not traveled that frontier.

No, I wouldn't consider myself an internaut. Still a bit fuzzy on that definition though...

I visit BB and that is pretty much it. Google when I need it, Youtube when I'm bored, Gmail when I get mail, Edmodo when I'm in school, Facebook when I'm feeling social and Quizlet when I study.

In general, technology aggravates me. As well as the internet sometimes...I mean typing in that code every time I move my Xbox or computer...GAH!

Well it's all relative isn't it? I mean, compared to my mother, hell yeah I'm an internaut. Compared to my father... eh... I have a decent internet proficiency level. I'd say it's probably slightly above average... but then again, I'm constantly amazed at how little people actually know about the internet. I spend most of my life on the internet. I know how to search things and find things I want. I know how to use forums and get answers to my questions. And it generally doesn't take too long to get answers to my questions. So if that means I'm an internaut... then I guess so. The article makes it sound like I am, but I don't know... I kinda feel like I don't know more than most people should and/or is obvious.

Nope. I'm a stranger in a strange land here... but I like talking to you nice people so I try my best to keep up. 🙂

Looks like I'm the only one who voted yes, lol... And I thought this was a term that described pretty much anyone who regularly use the net...

I'm pretty sure in other langauges, such as spanish and french(?) it does, but in english, not so much
well I haven't voted 'cause I'm trying to figure it out. Is my internet proficiency level that much above others?

I wouldn't say you are hyper 13370, but I would go so fas as to say internaut
Eh... fire bad, tree pretty?
Lol. I would certainly not claim myself to be an 'internaut', I'm just glad when I find the on/off switch on the computer 😀

I voted yes, the definition definitely descibes me lol. everyone in my family says I know just about everything about the internet/computers. Half the time I gotta help them or show them how to work the internet Haha 😀

I wouldn't call myself that or even close to it, but I guess certain people wouldn't mind calling me that. Depends on what you compare it with.
