Anyone here know anything about geometry?

I need all the help I can get, it's really bad how bad I'm doing. I know all you people say I'm smart, but I'm really not. I think I'm gunna asked to be switched down.
 
Perhaps, Parker you could publish a list of all ur problems? So we can solve 'em for you?
 
Yeah, I could do that, but, I don't want people to have to do work for me, and I think it would be best if I learned it on my own. Although I don't think I will.
 
ok. here are some problems I just did. Tell me if they're right.

1. radical 8
answer: 2 radical 2
2. radical 40
answer: 2 radical 10
3. radical 24
answer: 2 radical 5
4. radical 12
answer: 2 radical 3

eh?
 
The only one I noticed(using my mental math skills) was 3
radical 24:
24's common multiples
2 and 12
12: 6 and 2
6: 3 and 2
so in the radical you have:
2*2*2*3
take you the doubles: so you'd have 2*radical 2*3
2*3 is 6, so you get:
2 radical 6
 
I think I hit the wrong number, but thanks. atleast I see another example. I went for extra help today, but she wasn't there! I'm so angry! what does the school pay her for?!
 
You've done 'em all right except the 24, which trustno1 just did, so bring on more!
 
ooo..i just did this in Algerbra II, i took Geometry last year and did them also...i was very confused at first, but how your friend wrote out all the square roots can be very helpful if you know why he wrote them. When simplifying a radical you want to find square root factors. Say you have RADICAL 18. 9, a perfect square, can be multiplied by 2 to equal 18. So your problem would be:

EXAMPLE:
RADICAL 18
=RADICAL 9 X RADICAL 2
=square root of 9=3
ANSWER- 3 RADICAL 2

always look for a perfect square multiplied by another number to equal the RADICAL number. That sthe easiest way for me to do it.

This would be so much easier to explain in person, or at least with a radical button on the computer. Well, i tryed, hope it helps.

look for the factors that are square roots, 1,4,9,16,25,36,49,64,81,100,121........
 
ok, now, I have to do multiplying radicals.

duh... any clue on how to do those?

Turns into: Radical (2 x 2)
Radical (4) ---4 is a perfect square---
= 2

Or
Radical 6 x Radical 3
Radical (6 x 3)
Radical (18)
Radical (9 x 2)
Radical (2) x Radical (9) ---Radical 9 is a perfect square---
=Radical (2) x 3

Put the radicals together into one radical first, and then work the problem like all the others.

Got any specific examples to be done?
 
yeah, about 20 of them 🙁

Example: radical 2 x radical 7
Answer: radical14
Example: radica 2 x radical 8
Answer: 4 radical 2
Example: radical 2 x radical 9
Answer: radical 18
Example: radical 15 x radical 3
Answer: radical 45
Example - radical 2 x radical 18
Answer: - 6 radical 2

not sure if any of those are right, because I just got your directions now. my friend said all you do is multiply the two numbers together and then simplify.
 
actually the radical 2 * radical 8 can be reduced further to just 4. 8*2 is 16, 16 can be reduced to 4 and 4, and the fours are both 2*2, so it would make the answer just plain 4.
also:
radical 2 * radical 9 can be reduced:
18/2 is 9, nine goes to 3*3, so you'd get 3 radical 2
same with radical 15 * radical 3, it equals 45, but you divide 45 by 5 and get 9, 9 breaks down to 3*3, so it'd be 3 radical 5

the rest look good though 😀
 
Luckly, I got an extension of the due date. It's due on monday, but I still don't have enough time to due 100 problems are so. I'm gunna go after school today and try to get help. I went yesterday but she wasn't there. Wish me luck that she's there, and thanks for help again, everyone.
 
THanks. I went today and she gave me like 12 problems on top of the 20 i already had done. So, I just have to keep going until it's a decent grade because it's one point for every question right. Then I'm going to do some extra credit work to add onto the paper/test. So, everything looks like it's going to turn out ok.
