Anyone know where I can get omnibus editions of the comics for reasonable prices?

Just been looking at season 8, 9, 10 library editions on Amazon and they are insanely ****ing dear. They are like 400 pounds for one half a season. I'm not joking!

Who on earth do they think is going to waste 400 pounds on a comic book? Why are they so greedy? FFS I'd have to pay more for one half of a season of a comic book than the entire TELEVISION series. In fact both Buffy and Angel combined!

There must be somewhere where the prices are more....... sane?

The Library Editions are all/almost all out of stock. Second hand market only really these days. Season 8 & 12 you might be able to get for under £50 per volume. Everything else is £100+. Paperbacks or digital editions to get the content cheaper I think.

They are gorgeous ...but not 300 notes 😛 . They have actually gone down a bit in value .

I think Boom have the rights for them now . So a future omnibus is quite likely .

By chance I bought one of the rarer volumes when they were still under face value . I only got coz it was a bit cheaper than the trades editions 😛 . Now I'm doomed to sell it one day because I could never afford even the rest of that season .

I have no idea why they're so sought after . At first , I thought they might have been cannibalized for framing bookplates ...but I've never seen that kind of fan stuff being resold online .

I don't get that either. I thought the Buffy comic market was very niche to begin with and these were all available for ages to pre-order and then order.

Feel lucky I got in at the time and have all the library editions. Even managed to get the Angel After the Fall Premiere Edition which is nearly non existent now.

That's disappointing. The collectors selling them are being stupid. Who in their right mind do they think is going to pay 400 pounds for a comic book? It'll sit there forever. I know there are some eccentric millionaires who'll pay like a thousand pounds for a comic. (And I've always thought they were nuts. For instance I can read the first Batman comic ever made in the omnibus edition I bought for like 10 pounds. Who the **** cares if its an original edition? I can actually read the story!)

Still the Buffy comics are nowhere near famous enough to attract these kind of nuts.

Also talk about greedy? What they think it's okay to charge a fellow fan like 20 times what they paid for it? I'd feel dirty doing that.

If you have a look at the sold items on ebay there have been actual sales over £200.

I have mixed feelings on this because I doubt they were bought with the intention of scalping. It never seemed like a big opportunity. So after a couple of years people were clearing space and listing them and the bids got crazy. Now I feel a bit silly having potentially £600+ of books sitting on the shelf.

They are beautiful things . There's an eBay UK auction running right now for S 8 volume 1 . We'll see what the market is paying today 😛 .

Like I say , I see Boom getting in on this demand for the Dark Horse stuff with an omnibus . Then the market might come back down to sensible values .

Ooof , 45 quid for that one ....there was multiple bids from serious ebay purchasers . That suggests an actual demand . Who are these people ? Why aren't they here ? 😛

The better bet is to just buy the trades. I can’t speak for quid, but I don’t think I paid above $75 USD for any of them, and the 75 was one of the two S11 ones. The average price aside from that outlier was about $15-30 a piece buying from used sellers.

The Buffy secondhand market kind of blows, but as usual it’s all about waiting for better prices. The clowns on Amazon asking for $250+ for S10 Vol. 6 are out of their minds.
