Well..just asking for some good ideas..coz mine are getting kinda old and useless and they start failing me....

First of all if you need to push them away they're not friends, but people who hang around you a lot.

But to answer your question anyway. Stop using deodorant and other products that keeps the bodily smells under control. Then stock up on the garlicy diet. Tell them about your new hobbies; Bird watching and intense studies of the different types of human vomiting. Then throw in a couple of random bitch and beep off and after that I think they'll get the nessage. If not embrace the arts of farting and burping and show them your masterworks. Bound to work.

Sooo true.

LOL I myself would take a more direct approach compared to JollyApe's..although I'm sure that one would be quite effective!

I'd just tell them that they are draining on me, that I need to be on my own, etc etc....I mean whatever you are feeling...if you can't rely on them or they are always letting you down..tell them. Tell them you are picking you and you deserve to be treated better!

You could also take out all your life's frustrations on them....a surefire way to drive them away.

Also fun, subtlely insult them often 🙂

Thanx for replies 🙂

Cordelia-trust me..some people know me well enough and are pretty much used to my frustration and insults outburts that it does nothing for them..

Want something more or less painless for those people, coz I do like them..just don't want them around

I wouldn't tell them anything, probably. I'd just hope they'd understand that I didn't want to be friends with them anymore. Like, try to be boring or just be boring automatically since I'd be bored around them, eh. But that's probably no good idea. Maybe best thing is to talk to them..? But when a friend of mine did that (kinda "broke up" with me, as a friend) I was a ruined human being for weeks.. so you'd have to do it the right way if you don't want to hurt them...

I think the best and least painful way to do this would be to gradually stop returning phone calls, don't make any plans to hang out and generally just begin your new life without them...

They'll think you just drifted away due to a lack of common interests and hopefully move on themselves...

I'm not going to thank you later Ann. Just give it up alright... you can't push me away!

I was just going to suggest this...sad but it works ... eventually! LOL

It happens...As we grow up, we may not get the things we need out of the relationships of our past and it's time to move on. The friends I have today are not the same friends I had in high school because I'm not the same person I was in high school...

But that's not the case here. Here, Ann wants to push me away, because I dare critise her and because I try to help her overcome problem that she's too scared of to deal with, which in turn frightens her even more.

Did I state in any place it was about you Allycat?? No I didn't..so please no personal references,ok??

You don't need to state that Ann... I know you do... please don't pretend. And yes I will make personal references, whenever I please to.

Let's keep personal issues to PMs and if there are any significant problems, they can be taken to a moderator/admin 😀

Well, the thing is this thread is about how to gid rid of (former-)friends and in Ann's case I am this person (and she possibly refers to some others too)... so, how can we not keep this personal?

Well, I'm not sure what is going on right now between the two of you, but as an outsider I didn't see it as personally being directed at any specific person yet alone a member.

Well, I know the inside-scoop (so to speak) and I can tell you it is... although, Ann's gonna deny that.
