Anyone play wow?

WoW is a little boring when you start a new, and by new I mean not your first ever character.

When it's your first ever character the whole game is fresh and new, there's so much so explore and do and the levels just shoot by. By the time you've gotten a character to any sort of half decent level (which in my opinion is 25+ when all the semi-decent items start to drop on a semi-regular basis) you should have at least a decent grounding of how the game works and where to go and what there is to do which makes levelling up a second character a little boring if I'm totally honest - but it does make it that much faster to get back up to 25+

Sticking with a character class and levelling it all the way to 70 without starting a new character is, believe it or not, not a hard thing to do - if you commit both the time and effort to get there.

It took me 10 days "game time" to level up my mage, but 14 days game time to level up my rogue to 70. Game time by the way, is the total time you've been logged into the game as a cumulative total.

Oh, by the way, if you haven't already, I'd suggest using Google and searching out some WoW addons - some of the addons available make the game THAT much easier - especially the quest helper, combat and class specific addons.

As for decent drops - as I say they start to drop at level 20, but I found that I didn't really get anything half decent (apart from buying it at the auction house) until level 25+. Some of the drops are fantastic - orange and purple in colour - the orange ones are really rare, there's only a handful of orange drops on each server and there's something like a 0.00001% chance of an orange item dropping, purples are rare too in comparison to oranges - there drop rate is 0.0001%!!!!! Saying that though, I've had 6 purple drops whilst playing WoW - and I've been playing since it was in Beta - and I know one or two people who've never had a purple drop.

All in all, I'd say give WoW another chance - at least a full month. But that doesn't mean play for two or three sessions per week, it's got to be five or six sessions per week for a good five or six hours per day (if you have the time and can handle it of course) - you have to give the game a chance to get interesting else you're never going to get into the situations where the "decent" stuff drops.

Thanks Ill take your advice and see what happens. I gave a quick start last night and made my Dwarf hunter but only got to lvl 5 before I was busy so im going to try again tonight.

Hunters are a good choice of character to level up solo as they're one of, if not the easiest class to play. Beware though that training for the hunter class gets very expensive once you get past 30th. So save up your cash for your mount, which you get at 30th now, as well as an armour change at 40th - instead of leather you get to wear mail 🙂

Thanks I still havent had much time to play yet only lvl 6 just got to ironforge cant wait to I have a little free time to lvl up.

I used to play, but I quit a while ago after I got all the top gear for my lvl 70 warrior (including, lucky me, TWO Warglaives of Azzinoth.) After that, I just found the game too easy (seriously, my sheer rate of DPS with those weapons was ridiculous,) the only thing left to do was to raid Onixiya's lair OVER AND OVER again, as Onixiya herself was the only decent challenge anymore. I thus got bored, and stopped playing.

Where you playing the Burning Crusade addon at all? As if you weren't then I can see how you got bored - Burning Crusade has quite a few challenging instances, a new island and heroic mode for level 70 characters in dungeons. The rewards are immense as can be the challenge.

Personally I can't wait for the Lich King addon - increased max level to 80, tonnes of new spells, trade skills, instances etc etc - hope it's worth the wait!
