am I the only person who wanted to see a sequal to that episode?"

Marcy was a tragic figure, but was so warped by the end... she had become chilling...

I would have enjoyed seeing her cured...

I wanted to know more about the school she went to, and whether any of them ever became visible again

oh heres a question...

if the government people DIDNT burst down the door...

What would Buffy have done with Marcy.

She would have tied her up and kept her as a pet, like they did with Amy, or not 🙂

This episode was definitely one of the biggest uses of deus ex machina, but it was early on in the show, and I don't know if Buffy was ready for such big decisions: I supposes the Council could have taken her, like they tried to do with Faith?

I would love to have seen Marcy again (pun not intended), and I don't know why we didn't: it's not as if they even needed the actress to agree to participate, she is invisible after all.

I love Clea DuVall, and I loved the episode, so yes definitely would have wanted more of her! I wouldn't have minded having her as a semi-regular character in s4 with the initiative.

They could have done something really cool there.

I mostly want to know if the school she was taken to was part of the Initiative like a lot of people think. It makes sense to me, since there are some not sane people working on some not sane projects at that place. They didn't just start in S4 - they've been organized for years.

oh curious... if Buffy encountered Marcy again how hung up on "Capturing her alive and helping her" do you think Buffy would be, since buffy LET the FBI guys take Marcy to the "How to assasinate people" school.

I think learning that would flood buffy with guilt.

I agree, that would've been pretty cool to see. I think she's a great actress. I loved her in Girl, Interrupted & they could've done a lot more with her if they had decided to.

I always wished we would have seen/heard something else about Marcie later in the show. There are a lot of characters from Season 1 that I wish we would have heard more about later, such as the kids from "The Pack".

It's one of my favourites episodes of season 1, and I think it leaves some seeds for later on. I really wished the school she went to was adressed again during season 4. It would have been really cool!

Yes, it would've gone well with the whole Initiative storyline
Sorry to Bump but Any thoughts on BUffy feeling towards Marcy the way Angel did towards Faith, in a Protective Parentalistic Fashion if they ever met again.

Think its likely or not?

In Season 7 when Buffy was a counselor, she smacked one girl back into visibility, so she knew that there could be a problem if she hadn't intervened. But I doubt she would want to protect Marci unless Marci had changed her attitude. A lot of people get ignored in school. Most of them don't tie people up and play plastic surgeon as a result. There is every evidence that Marci liked her new life, thought being an assassin was cool and wouldn't want to be Buffy's friend.

Another cool concept from season 1 they ignored or don't follow up on. That would have been a cool idea to see Marcie pop up in season 4 working for the initiative. She is just another student that doesn't get revisited. Other than the scoobies I would have like to see repeat students going through weird things. Like Owen, the kids from The Pack, or the other guy that gets captured with Xander in Teacher's Pet. Or I would have like to see students pop up and be established before the monster of the week episode that they are in. Like the guys from the swim team or Jack O'Toole. There are a lot of possibilities that the show could have gone with, but it was a shame they didn't come back to Marcie because she was an interesting character.

It's a little known fact that the miscellaneous unnamed students on BTVS went on to become Red Shirts on the various "Star Trek" series. The women who survived there went on to become the ones who showed and demonstrated the prizes on various game shows. The men became the suspects on the assorted police shows. The ones who showed no aptitude for either job were sent back to high school in Smallville for further training.

Joss always said the 'Out Of Sight' Out Of Mind' and the 'anger of the outsider' was the first idea he thought up for Buffy, you would've thought it would get a bit more follow up than none.

I'm always surprised that they didn't do more with the 'Invisibility' concept, since its one of the classic Victorian stories, just like vampires, Frankenstein's monster, and werewolves which they utilized a few times.

Come to think off it did they ever utilize the whole Jekyll/Hyde story? I'm thinking more about the plot than the themes of duality/evil which run right through BtVS.

Yeah, in season 3, with the guy who makes a potion and kills his girlfriend, Willow even refers to Jekyl and Hyde when describing it.

Ah, yes 'Beauty And The Beasts'- forgot about that.

Yes but Buffy would PROBALY feel a bit of guilt for letting the FBI people take her away.

With the intention not of curing her but exploiting her.

It'd be cool if the school ended up being a S.H.I.E.L.D training facility.

I would have loved this. Season four or season seven either one would've worked greatly.

One of the stand out episodes of the debut season for me too, and a great performance from Duvell. Surprised they didn't bring the character back really.
