Anyone watch Desperate Housewives?

I really like Desperate Housewives, I'm not even sure what's so great about it but there sure is something.. I mean I really like the characters and most of the stories and so on, mhm.
Just a question, how many episodes have been aired in the US?
 
Oh! I just started watching Desperate Housewives too! In Sweden it's only been a couple of episodes yet. I love it, it's so funny. So far, anyway. 😀
The whole story is so.. hmm.. I don't really know if there's a word for it. 😀 Crazy?
 
I love this program too, all the characters are absolutely great and i love brie and lynette they make me laugh so much... the only bad thing about it is that we've had to wait for ages and the mysteries still haven't been unravelled!!!
 
I think in America they have aired 17 episodes, and the 18th will air tomorrow (Sunday 17th April). Wheras in the UK on E4 we have seen up to episode 15, with episode 16 airing on April 20th. Plus in two weeks America is airing a special on the show, rather than a new ep so we'll be even closer to them.

Anyway, love it! Such a great show, I can't get enough of it. Plus its mainstream, so can talk to people about it 😀

Lol yea, mainstream's good in that way.. Except my friends have only seen 3 eps so.. I can't really talk to them about it, mhm. (Thank god for internet 🙂 )
 
I've been watching since the beginning and I love it, though not as much as the rest of the nation. I love Veronica Mars more, despite it getting 1/10 the viewers as DH. Marcia Cross better get an Emmy.
 
We're watching it every week chez Pointy and thoroughly enjoying it.
 
I've just started watching it and it's addictive! I bought the new copy of InTouch today and there's a big story about all the cat fights on set between the stars and how it might affect the show's future. I hope they don't end it because of the fueds!
 
I watch with my mom, which is a treat because she yells at the tv...it's quite funny, actually. But, anyway, back on track, I like the wit and the interaction with all the characters, it's very good.
 
I love Desperate Housewives. I try to catch it every Wednesday on E4's First Look. Gabrielle is my ultimate favourite character along with Susan. That gardener is just gorgeous! I think that Lynnette is really brave and utterly brilliant to put up with what she does. Bree... well she's just a strange one!

Actually we've had 18 episodes, and the 19th will air tomorrow ("Live Alone and Like It" 🙂

Ooh I love it- and you're right- it is addictive! I'm just dying to find out all the secrets- it's seems like every week there's a new clue revealed and it's all leading to something- I just have no idea what!! I love Bree- she overeacts to everything!! But I love Susan- she's just so dosey sometimes!! He he!! Good show anyway!!
 
I love it. Its kinda like Twin Peaks mixed with Sex and the City. I have a few theories about whats really going on but none of them really work out when I totally think them through. I think I need a bit more information.

I'm usually good at these sorts of things but I guess I'll find out soon enough.

The one thing I'm not sure about though, they have the big mystery going on. Presumably we'll find out at the end of the season whats going on. But then what are they gonna do next season when theres no mystery?

Weird thought but yea.. kinda. I'd say not so much Twin Peaks feeling though, just 'cause to me there's nothing like Twin Peaks.. just like I could never compare anything to Buffy, heh.
 
Hmm...I never thought of comparing it to Twin Peaks, but you're right.


I don't know what they're going to do next season - but you have think there will be room for new people to move into the neighborhood with new problems 😉
 
I'd say that it owes more than a little to American Beauty. I love me some Housewives. I particularly love Bree - so much insanity, so much facade.

The way it looks at the darker side of suburbia, its falls outs, ruined families and not so happy underbelly covered by the gloss of smiles. I can imagine Bree doing the whole "I will sell this house, I will sell this house" thing. Plus, Bree, like the mother in the film (been a while since I read it) are trying to keep their family together but failing miserably.
