Anyone watching for the first time?

Thats exactly the same thing that happened when i got the Charmed collection
My 8 year old cousin came over and we'd watch them!!!

But it was my 1st time watching them so she'd overtake me and i walk into the room and Cole had just died or something!!!!

I just finished the WHOLE thing for the first time a couple days ago and man. Took me like two months to watch it all. Still came so fast =( Although I'm not as depressed as I thought I'd be since I didn't like season 7 as a whole that much. Which is kinda sucky but also good in a way. I was anticipating being in a black hole of despair for god knows how long.

Feels weird to have a life again though!

I just finished season 7 a few days ago, and seriously, no show has ever affected me the way this show has. Totally epic. And I seriously LOVED every single season, which is such a rarity! GREAT show. 🙂 A couple years ago I got really into Charmed, which is also a good show, but dude I was totally missing out until I came across this show. I love my Charmed Ones don't get me wrong, but Buffy (and Angel for that matter) are SO MUCH BETTER. The writing is just so unbelievably good, and the characters are so lovable and so real. My only regret is not discovering it sooner!

I only started watching in January and just finished last month. Only half way through huh? You'd better get ready for some serious "WHAT THE HECK!?" moments, just avoid spoilers. I actually felt kinda depressed after reading my first one, and then seeing it for real. It's no fun if you knew it was coming.

It's hard to miss the spoilers - i heard about some pretty important bits before i watched them which was annoying but i still loved it anyway. I've finished season 6 now and am halfway through Angel S3 🙂 Just having some problems getting hold of the season 7 dvds 🙁 So i might have to wait. It'll be tough.. but i still have Angel 🙂

I'm currently watching the shows for the first time. I'm up to the middle of season 5 of Buffy and season 2 of Angel and I adore it so far.

But honestly season 5 (Buffy) and season 2 (Angel) aren't the best so far so I'm going more slowly these seasons.

I'm not going to do what I did with Buffy where everyone told me the first season was bad, so I started the series by watching "School Hard." Even though Buffy S1 is pretty good.

Everyone's told me Angel is great, so it must be. Must keep watching...

Honestly there's a couple not so great episodes in the first season(for me at least). It was still cool though because of the three main characters 🙂 Don't give up! Season 3 is absolutely good and then I couldn't stop watching once I got to the fourth :smile3:

Yeah I think I probably will give them a go when i'm finished - not really sure how you get hold of the comics though.. Do you have to order them?

If you are in the UK your best bet is to buy them from Amazon in the form of volumes (like this [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Buffy-Vampire-Slayer-Long-Home/dp/1593078226/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1275947135&sr=8-3"]Volume 1[/ame] , which are like 5 issues of the comics in 1 book. This is the easiest and most economical way of doing it, especially since Amazon do free postage 🙂

Yeah, season 1 is a bit hit-and-miss. But I'm sure if you keep watching you'll get into it and end up loving it as much as Buffy.

It only took a few episodes and I was HOOKED. I remember when BTVS first started on TV, but I just wasn't interested back then with the whole vampire theme. As of this moment, I am halfway through Season 6 of Buffy and halfway through Season 3 of Angel. I am so glad I discovered these shows, and this board as well.

Zalos: Don't hate me, but what made me check them out was a little book called Twilight...(I know, I know). That book ignited my interest in vampires, and then I saw that Netflix had BTVS to watch instantly, so I checked it out, and the rest is history! 🙂

I'm watching Angel for the first time. I'm at the beginning at season 4 now. But this board can be really dangerous for a first timer like me I have noticed. I have allready found out a lot of things I didn't want to know just by looking at the subject of a thread. But considering I really like it here I think that's a small price to pay 😀

Blixten, I have noticed that too. I try to be really careful about which threads I look at right now so I don't find out too many spoilers! It's hard though...the temptation is there! 😛

I only rewatch with newbies - spreading the Josspel, you know. 😛 Every time I watch an ep, though, despite knowing in part what happens, I feel like I'm watching it for the first time all over again! Living vicariously thru the reactions of the Scoobie Noobie IS quite helpful in that though.

MandaMeena agrees: I'm on S4 of Angel too, and like you, have been spoiled a bit... but I'm over it 🙂

TheVoid68 agrees: I haven't seen S5 of Angel yet but I practically know the whole plot of it already. 🙁

It sucks with spoilers. Although, if I look at the bright side, it's kind of fun to know things that's going to happen, you can kind of see things in the show leading up to what you know. Like "oh, now he did that, that must mean that...". 🙂

That part of it is fun, but it doesn't quite compare to the whole *le gasp* "Oh, no he di'nt!" part. I love that part... It's ok though. I guess I don't mind so much because it's Angel an not Buffy. I didn't even imdb or google anything about the Buffy series while watching because I was afraid that I would be spoiled somehow. I'm about half-way through season 4 of Angel right now though, so I should be out of the woods fairly soon. Then it's on the Firefly!

I try to avoid being re-spoiled as much as possible, so I can be surprised again when things happen... For example, I try to avoid posts that are beyond where we are on the eps this time around.
My forgetful mind comes in handy sometimes. Ie: rewatching television shows! XD

Sorry, had to get that out as I'm finally watching Angel for the first time (not only an episode here and there for reference). Well, overall I can definitely say that it was pretty strong season, especially for a series first. There were definitely some amazing highlights and episodes: Hero, I Will Remember You (which has unsurprisingly become a board banner favorite lately), and my new personal favorite Faith episode of all time - Five by Five. I cannot believe I never watched it before, I mean seriously. I seen her arc when Willow came to LA but I never bothered looking up any previous in season one (I guess to avoid spoilers). AND Darla is back? What! This is going to be interesting, as a matter of fact I'm going to go catch the first eppy of season two. Oh almost forgot, I like Lindsey McDonald too. He definitely has potential to become one of my favorite characters. 🙂
