I thought it was a wee bit disappointing, to be honest. It lost a lot of momentum in the middle. Shaun's genius was that it found the right balance between fond homage and outright spoofery... I don't think Hot Fuzz manages it in quite the same way. It takes itself far too seriously, far too often. Macho cop dramas are funny precisely because they are so bloody po-faced, so that's a big mistake. I can't help feeling that a touch of Jessica Stevenson might have helped, just a little bit.

Still, it has got Bill Bailey. The actual Eb0l plot is hysterical, and the cast are predictably brilliant. And it has got the most fantastically abysmal murder of a Cardigan's song I've ever heard.
Enjoyable, but no Shaun, and certainly no Spaced.
