Has anyone else read this book? It’s my absolute favorite Buffy novel. I’ve read it multiple times throughout the years. Although certain set pieces and sequences feel outlandish (Buffy driving? Another full-scale apocalypse that happened in between episodes?), it still lands fairly well and was written with more care than certain other tie-ins. Plus, the authors created the Roswell book series so they had some experience.

The narrative itself takes place during Season 7, directly after “Same Time, Same Place”. Thematically, it explores the questionable morality of some of its greyer characters in the face of an old-school Biblical apocalypse created by Michael the Archangel.

There aren’t many Season 7 era tie-ins, but this one was impressive for what it was.

It’s been a while since I read it. I don’t remember much of the plot, really. I just know I’ve read it. I wish there would have been more later season tie-ins because I really like the dynamic of the group as young adults.
