Apocalypse(s)

Hey, since I lack the Angel DVDs, I enjoy using wikipedia for notes on the angel episodes...I just watched Orpheus and have the wiki window open so let me quote it:

The Faith trilogy (beginning with "Salvage" and ending with this episode) was generally well received. UGO Networks called this arc "truly the high point of the entire season," although was disappointed in the frequent silences on the director's commentary.[7] However, webzine PopMatters complained about the rapid resolution of seemingly unsolvable problems in the last quarter of this episode. "We're left thinking none of them is so terrible as they seemed," the reviewer wrote. "'Apocalypse' can only be uttered so many times before it starts to lose its urgency.[8]

Of course, I loved the Faith Trilogy...it showed so much about both Faith/Angel...they're kindred spirits in a way...much love for these three episodes.

But as for the word Apocalypse...isn't that kind of the point of the Buffyverse? Maybe "the end of the world" aint so bad after all...maybe it's just a word that adds drama. I keep thinking about Y2K and the nearing year of 2012.

Maybe there's really nothing to be scared of...
Or maybe there's ALWAYS gonna be something to be afraid of...
Or Both?
 
I think it always was, I mean even the characters realized that. Like that time Giles was like "It's the end of the world.." and Buffy, Willow, and Xander all said "AGAIN!?" They knew it happened a lot but they knew they had to do something. Apocalypse can be used a lot if it happens a lot, and it could have a lot in the Buffyverse.
 
Of course there are many different apocalypses. There are many different entities out there trying to get the world to a point where THEY want it. Duh.
