Are all these talks about season 8 and 9 true?

Everything is speculation at this point. In the interview I saw with Marti Noxon she basically said negotiations wouldn't begin with Sarah until late in the season. She also mentioned they are pulling out all the stops and truly preparing season 7 to be the final season. She did not seem real optimistic Buffy would carry on past this season.

I checked out the spoiler at the site above and I agree with the subtexted question underneath it. Why hasn't this been confirmed with anyone else?
