Are Streamers Starting to Die?

Yes, that would be far too open for abuse. But how to fix it? You need more than one streamer, and probably more than two, but the current situation has far too many and rising, with the quality of each getting lower and lower as prices get higher.
 
Everyone in business right now it taking advantage of all the inflation hoopla being at the forefront of everyone's mind and pocketbook right now. I'm sure every business out there is jumping on the raise the prices bandwagon even if they don't need to. I'm sure none of them would pass up any chance to increase their profits in this dog eat dog economy, and a lack of competition would only make it easier for them to that without any repercussions.

I do like reading all the crap about which streaming site has dropped what show, I read that Netflix had dropped First kill. Then later that day I watched a bit of First Kill on Netflix. Really the frigging idiots who write what shows are being dropped should sod off, it is them who should be dropped.

Having everything in one spot for a decent monthly fee would appeal to me. But that's just my opinion of course!

With multiple platforms now, it's not like they're not already taking customers for a ride, is it? Multiple price hikes within a year, removal of content and other restrictions put in place. They're already doing what they want in a sense.

Yep, as you say, it seems that they're all in bed together. I know price fixing is illegal but we all know it's common place in big business.
 
I wonder if I should say anything, but I will anyway.

Disney now owns Hulu that is to host the new Buffy. It's been said they're absorbing Hulu into Disney Plus.

I've subscribed to Disney before and never will again (reasons include technical issues I've had with it). That means if the new Buffy airs on Disney Plus, I'm not paying to see it. I don't care how much praise it gets here.

Though that said, a friend's mother gets Disney Plus (for now), and if still available when Buffy comes out, he'll let me watch on his mother's TV while she's out of town (as she frequently is who uses him to house sit).

Though there are definitely other reasons, technical issues is a serious one. It's why I will never pay for ad-free ITVX. The service has been so flaky that I have no interest in paying them money. I have been watching programmes only for a box to appear on screen saying that the internet connection has been lost and the show can't be played - whilst it is still playing in the background obscured by the box! And this can go on for some time with no way of getting rid of it until the show essentially crashes.

Yeah some of my free tv is like that, they would never get me if they change to pay to view because they are so dodgy most of the time, I just wouldn't based on my experience of the service so far.

I still enjoy the cinema, so for some movies I would fork out just to go see them there rather than pay for access at home.
