Question Are They Really Gonna Make An 8th Season?

Yup, there is an 8th season, but it's in comic form. I don't think they're ever gonna put it into TVformat, though. Maybe novelize it, that's what I'm hoping for. Or, if we're really lucky, though this already goes into an area of incredibility, we might get a movie.

I can visualize an animated version being done. Now voice work.... hmmm. Can some stars be coaxed back into the saddle?
Marvel Comics has done some nice work with their recent animated line and was well received:
Ultimate Avengers
Ultimate Avengers 2
Iron Man
Doctor Strange
 
There was talk of an animated season several years ago, but as far as I know it was abandoned in favor of the comic books. The idea might be returned to sometime in the future if Joss decides that animation is a challenge that he wants to explore, but for right now it's not an option.

Actually, it was abandoned long before the comic ever showed up. The animated series was to be set during the high school years, with several of the original actors doing the voices, but none of the networks showed any interest and it died. Just as well, IMO; even though it might have been interesting, it would never have survived the network's ideas of what a "cartoon" should be, and there's been enough watering-down of the show with the "young adult" novels (most of which seem to be written on the premise that "young adult" means about twelve...)

I hate seeing the show talked about as if it's for "young adults". Especially later in the series, its complex themes and darkness just isn't for kids.
