Are we friends???

"What are friends? How do you define friendship?"

I have good friends, I have aquaintances (spelling on that one??), I have buddies. They all are different things for me and I do different things with them. I do believe that one needs all sorts of different types of friends to complete his/her life.

I would say that I have met some buddies on BB and am in the process of making one, a good friend.
 
I wonder that a lot, & actually I think that it's able to make friends online, I mean coz u speak often more or fell more free with someone that u don't see in eyes & that would probly not judge u, or at least, if he/she does, u can don't care coz he/she is so far.
+, if ppl r not lying, u can know them better than some of ur "real" friends.
But I think that in real life, u need to have the 2 kinds of friends, online ones & life ones.
 
Yeah I pretty much agree with frenchy, I think you can have good friends over the net, but it is not the same as friends in real life. It think over time you could be just as close and that sometimes net friends might know more about your personality than real life friends. But that is rare, and it is difficult to know for sure if you would really get along well until you have meet people in person. So like Frenchy said, you should keep it separate, online friends and real friends.
 
I have a really good friend I met on another board ages ago. She lives about 7 hours from me. Well, she is a bridesmaid in my wedding! So I guess we are friends! 🙂 I'll be in her wedding next year. We e-mail every day, visit each other at least once a month, and talk on the phone every other night.

I actually have quite a few friends I've met online.
 
I'm quite picky about who I consider to be a friend. Like Chasity I have people that I wouldn't call friends more like acquaintances. They are normally people that I talk to and see on a fairly regular basis for one reason or another but they are also people who I don't socialise with. However I consider my friends online to be exactly that, friends, as I class talking to them via MSN or AIM to be a form of socialising, even if it isn't in the flesh - I actually talk to these people more than I do to my *fleshy* friends.

I have made a handful of really good friends online, and I speak to some of them on the phone or text them whenever I can. Some of them I have known for a few years now although it feels like I have known them all forever - not sure if that's a good thing or a bad one 'lol' Most of them are off their trolley which is probably why we are such good friends. ::evil1::

I think a friend is someone that you can totally be yourself with and not worry if you have had a bad day because they don't mind if you are in a mood, I don't know I think you should just feel at ease with a friend and not have to worry about anything as they accept you for who you are and all the good and bad things about you too.
 
theres a big diff between "accointenences"(s/p??) and friends.. i find it takes alot to call someone youre frined.. and the ones you have a truly precious and rare

I know what you mean hon, i've known you guys for a couple of years now, and I consider you to be amoung my closest friends.

I don't think that you have to physically be with a friend all the time, a friend is someone that understands you, who you chat to through some medium, phone, net whatever.

I've even met up with people whom I met online, i've been really lucky and its all turned out for the best and i've had some mad mad times 😀
 
I count people as my friends whether Ive met them or not!
It doesnt matter about that, all that matters is that if you have a good relationship with that person! That is friendship!
I have LOADS of friends on here, I havent met a single one of them, but they're still my friends 😉
