It didn't bug me as it's clearly for dramatic effect. Those corny things will always appear on tv/in movies to give emphasis to the importance of the answer...

To me it just felt like Angel probably answered Doyle right then and there but later on he was one his own, he repeated the statement to himself. Accepting the mission he was about to embark on but honestly reminding himself, or pepping himself up perhaps, that his was indeed game for it.

The whole ending made me laugh, it was kinda cheesy! lol 🙄 It was slightly strange Angel talking to himself and 'replying to Doyle' on a rooftop, without him there lol 🙄 but I also get what Taake is saying too 🙂

Actually I don't think he was answering Doyle even if he was the one asking in the first place. I think he answered himself. He'd been thinking about it and now he had an answer. If he before this answered Doyle like Taake thought we can't know. But that never struck me. Then again, I usually don't think the "normal" way. 😉

I don't typically sit around making fun of shows I love, so I didn't laugh at the line. Yeah it was a little cheesy, but whatever... It was a dramatic moment to show that Angel made an important decision.
