Why do shows and movies create a myth about cheerleaders? They're not all snooty... most of the ones I know are really nice!

Im a cheerleader and have been since 6th grade. I am the asistant captain of my school's squad. We went to Nationals last year and got 4th place. All uf us know how to do back flips and back hand springs (which is a must to be on the team). Well Im not all popular but the cheerleaders are prety cool....but not as cool as the football players. We date them so its not all that cool, your tipical snobby private school kids. There are 29 of us on the team so you can see were well known in the school.
But to answer you question. If your a cheerleader everyone knows you but not everyone likes you. Were all preps so its not all different but if ur in a normal HS where people wear what they want and have there own stile you are gonna have enemies and people that dislike you. Its different from school to school but at my school were all mindless robots to fashon and money that no one is realy different. Thats why I wish I was at a normal school sometimes ^_^
Oh and cheerleaders get reps as airheads sometimes and sluts but (most) of the girls on my team are smart and some never dated but are drop dead gorgous!

lmao the fact that all the cheerleaders at my school have money flowing out of there ears kinda helps lol. Your right, all of our cheerleaders are realy nice and cool (exept two *cough* Bree *Cough* Jenni) lol. But most of the cheerleaders have boyfriends and there football players. You get to get to know the boys if you spend alot of time with them so it kinda happends. Now there 29 cheerleaders and 78 football players lol so not every player has a cheerleader girlfriend.
20 of the cheerleaders are blonde lol but most also die there hair. So we are your steriotipical cheerleaders that are blonde, thin, cute and kinda stupid. LOL But were all nice and thats what makes people like us. And we dont spill milk on dorks or anythig. We cant realyy hate people at our school they all look the same to me!

lol...not to be punk...but...it sounds like if you get on the football team and you go to LA's school...then you get a helmet...uniform...and a chick...lol... that's classic...
the funny thing about my high school is that the cheerleaders were snobs...but not slutty...or the hottest...the slutty hott chicks did nothing but drink...get high...or falk...
i think cheerleaders get a bum rap...modern day cheerleading is a sport...and i think that not enough people realize that the old stereotype is dead...
