Are you still a fan?

I'm a huge fan of the original series' and the books...

the comics however are another story... i started collecting them hoping they would be just as good as the TV series and books, sadly not the case...

i've seriously read fanfic by 7 year olds with more plot continuity and better characterization than the comics... ever day i look at my collection of Buffy comics, upto issue 39, and consider using them as litter tray lining for my kitten

I'm still a fan, probably always will be, though my rewatches tend to take a little longer now - I used to plow through the entire series in a few weeks now it can take months (and months). But I still visit all my fandom sites regularly. I'm enjoying the comics - I haven't loved everything that has happened in them for sure, but I'm taking a wait-and-see approach to them. And, being an optimist, I have high hopes for season nine and that the DH PTB and Joss have learnt a few lessons about how to give us a tighter, better explained story. With more Spike 😛

This is why I will not read comics. Buffy ended with season 7 for me and nothing will ever change that. I was actually considering reading the comics... until just now. LOL.

I don't want ANYTHING messing with the passion and love I have for the show. It's been my best friend for so long now. When I watch it, it calms me down when i'm feeling down.

Although my viewings of the show have become fewer and fewer, it's only because i've seen each episode like 200 times LOL.

But it's been so long since i've watched now, that I want to watch from the beginning again. It's been like 2 years since i've done it, and that is a long time (for me). I'm going off topic here, but anyway, unless the show (or movie) came back within the same Joss-Buffyverse, it's ended for me.

I wish I hadn't got involved in the comics - don't even read the forum or see what's going on. It's plain silly, and Buffy just doesn't read the same in comic book format.

Good, now I don't feel so bad about skipping out on them. I have the comics, just never read them. I guess they'll just look good w/ my Buffy stuff LOL.

I do LOVEEEE the art. Especially the Willow art from the comics.

Haven't collected the comics, I considered it but as a lowly student I wasn't in a position to buy these expensive comics. 😛

To answer the question, yes, I'm still a fan. I always find that as I'm growing as a person that I look at a situation differently. I mean for example as a young teen watching season 4/5 I hated Riley. But now as I'm rewatching the show again as a young adult I have a lot more sympathy for him, I can relate to the guy.

There's not many shows out there that can continually make you change your opinion about characters or storylines, so yeah, Buffy still has a special place in my heart.

what can I say? I'm a fan of BtVS, but a HUGE fan of AtS and I love love Angel. Think of my disappointment when he was thrown in the middle of s8 so badly. After the anger and the depression I decided not to read the comics anymore, for my mental health. I put in a litter s8 and I felt...relieved. After all, why ruin seven years of BtVS and five years of AtS because of bad characterization, vagina monsters, ship of bugs and bad use of s2 plotline?

I'm still a fan. I watch Buffy a lot and have started watching Angel recently as well, mostly because I'm bored at uni.

Um ma ma mah

Still love the Buffy and Angel :3

But the comics I like them because...it's what we have left i guess?

Even though some of the crap that happens in the season 8 comics im like 'why...why!?' Cause some of it is just kinda lame to me or some of it i WISH they would go more into detail with.

But really...i feel like this with Buffy and Angel.

I don't write fanfic. I don't hang out on fan forums 24-7. I don;t rewatch episodes very day.

But, yes, I consider myself a fan. It is one of the few TV shows I really enjoyed.

As for the comics, I decided to completely ignore them, much as I do with the fanfic community (the writing of the comics is barely above hack fanfic writing, anyway ...)

I think you should read them since you bought them. Heee

Besides, just because some fans disliked them it doesn't mean you would. I love them and I know many fans who do. Same goes for all seasons.
