As a Bangel Fan, How Do You See B/A Going Forward?

Buffy was 22 when S7 ended, so, given the timeline of each season and the space in between, 26 sounds about right. Even a bit too old.

It's not that, I don't expect Buffy to die from natural causes either, it's just, people change as they get older. Priorities change. Sure, I don't know if slayers work like this, it's pure speculation but what if Buffy decides one day that she wants to be a mom, wants to start a family? What if age starts affecting her performance as the slayer? What if she's ready to retire but Angel is not? Buffy doesn't have an eternity, that's what I'm trying to say, I guess.

No, I totally get what you're saying but I tend to view these things as conflict to be resolved within the relationship, not reasons for them not to get together at all. So often writers say you can't get a couple together because then you have nowhere to go but relationships are fecking hard and I think there is plenty of story in one involving Buffy and Angel.

Yeah, Joss's stance against "no happy couples" leads to him coming up with increasingly insane in-story reasons for them not to be together. This is the kind of thinking that leads to space frakking a universe into existence after being mind controlled by evil King Moonracer. Is that really much better than two people in a committed relationship dealing with problems? It's not like any couple is perfectly happy 100% of the time anyway.
 
Honestly the only way I can see for these two to be together is in death aka the after life. With 100% guarantee of no resurrection.

I thought the whole point of Dawn/Connor is as substitues for Buffy/Angel except these two get to live the life they want, do what they want because they are free. They get to experience life in all it's forms if they want to while Buffy and Angel are reduced to the fight. I thought that was the lazy ass character regression they aimed for in the later years. The kids get the life that their *parents* either fought for, wished for or wanted. Guess for Joss it's just boring to have heroes who try to find something more in the midst of all the fighting, who pull through it all because they have hope that they maybe can get some happiness or previeve in all this mess. And then actually you know, achieve that once in a while.

Instead it's the same story over and over. Put them together only to tear them apart. And it's done worse every time. Rinse and repeat. Repetative and redundant. I signed on for the story where the character Buffy (and to an extend Angel) was looking for more for herself in all the slaying. I didn't sign on for the Buffy who said *I have Dawn's life.*
 
There is one other option: have Angel sire Buffy then have Willow immediately restore her soul. With no evil deeds to remember, there would be no angst, no aging and they could be together for eternity or until somebody kills them. With an uncertain Shanshu that may not apply to Angel, the only way they could be equal partners is to be in the same state.
 
Honestly, I can think of a million different happy endings I'd love to see for the two of them; but at this point all I can hope for is a time when the two of them can be happily around each other again. Even if its just as friends, seeing the two of them laughing together would be the greatest.

Oh, I totally agree they will never be just friends....I just meant I'd like to see the two of them happy and comfortable around each other. I don't necessarily need to see them romantically involved again for me to know that they are end game. And to be honest, in that time together I don't doubt for a second that there would be a moment between the two of them (even if its just a look) that they acknowledge that they were and still are the love of each others lives.

For me, I want Buffy and Angel to be together. Angel becomes human again and he and Buffy end up happy together, like "I Will Remember You" for the rest of their lives. However I don't think my happy ending is going to happen, but in my mind I like to think the best. To me, Angel and Buffy are soul mates and meant to be together, or at least that's what I like to think.
 
I really hope Angel (as a human) and Buffy have a happy relationship in the end.
I don't think it will happen though, knowing Joss is addicted to tragedy and allergic to happy couples.
Buffy and Angel fighting side by side or them sacrificing themselves to save their friends (and the world of course), would be good alternatives.
 
My Bangel- shipping heart wants a happier ending for Buffy and Angel with a shanshued Angel. The reward and normalcy that they deserve. It can happen if Joss allows it to happen and in a utopian kind of world or an alternate universe world Buffy and Angel can exist in and enjoy being with each other. I will still hope for that. For now they will continue the way they are.
