Mr. Gordo/Puppet Angel is a seaworthy ship!
But Mr. Gordo is an inanimate stuffed pig. Puppet Angel is alive and cranky and he hates songs about self-esteem. He deserves better than something that doesn't even talk.

In 243 Angel has only loved one stuffed pig. Gangel 4 life.
That sounds like the name of an illness. Along the lines of syphilis. It certainly sounds like a fungus.

Maybe Mr. Gordo has just been waiting for the right puppet to come along...
riley and buffy...idk even why? but it bothered me only in s5. in s4 he was nice...but then ugh
and i don't know but even angel and buffy troubled me even though i love them together. but as i watch i always think: couldn't you keep it in ur pants until she's 18?
i think i have trouble almost with all ships cause i don't have a heart

This one always makes me scratch my head. It's fine with people that Buffy is essentially a child soldier that was unwillingly conscripted into service, she has the adult responsibility to not only save people but the whole freaking world. A service that killed her for the first time at freaking age 16. But hey lets treat her like a delicate little girl who doesn't know what she's doing when it comes to sexual relationships. Does not compute.

well...she is a child soldier. but still a child.
sorry. for me it's like that. maybe because i was 16 not that long ago idk.

Oh so it's fine that she goes to war as a child and kill and die but oh my god save her from icky cooties? And if you consider her a child then she should not be in the field because children have terrible judgement. Yeah sorry, still doesn't compute.

Buffy made all the calls in her relationship with Angel. Seems weird to me to have an issue with Angel when he was the cautious one. She wanted to date and she dictated the way their intimacy progressed. Even on the night they did it, Angel was the one saying 'maybe we shouldn't'. You could argue that he could have kept it in his pants anyway but IMO after another close call with almost death, Buffy made the decision. If she wants this experience with this guy, let her have it. There is always a very real chance she could be dead tomorrow, I'm all for her 'seizing the moment'.

It also needs to be mentioned that Angel was originally younger in the early Seasons. They had to change his human age later on because there was no believable way to have Angel be 19 forever. Actors do age unlike vampires.

Once again, it's the sex vs. violence deal. Like how being a serial killer is perfectly fine, and they can always get better. But if a man has ever raped, or tired to rape a woman, he's the scum of the Earth who needs to be put to sleep. Rape is a very DISGUSTING thing. But as bad as it is, people can still recover from that. There is no recovery for being brutally murdered, and the very last moments you will ever have a life are filled with terror & pain.

Also, I am sure many here, and everywhere were having sex as teens, and see nothing wrong with it because they were ready. If a teen is old enough to decide they're ready, and actually be having sex, then surely they can consent to who they wanna have it with? I always thought age of consent was fine at 16, like they have it in the UK. Unless they finally upped it.

Then we have to factor in Angel's time. He's from the 18th or 19th century. The legal age of consent then was 12. lol I think it was raised to 13 in the 1860's. Clearly age worked differently when he was growing up. So Buffy being 16, and already knowing the horrors of death & war takes her childhood off of her a bit.

I don't think age shouldn't be a factor when one of the characters is immortal or nigh-immortal, and if it's a fight series where teens are saving the world, going to war, and killing others. Again, childhood innocence isn't a big thing there. If we were dealing with normal kids with no world experience who were still playing with toys, I can agree on no sex. lol But I also notice that age only comes up with older men & younger women. If it's an older guy dating a young(er) girl, he'd be called a pedo or predator. If it's an older woman dating a young guy, there's nowhere near the same amount of disgust.

Again the Marvel comics I read. Mystique is one of the oldest mutants around, but nobody bats an eye at any of her relationships or sexcapades. But when it's Magneto or Sabretooth, people wanna talk about how their relationships are gross because the age gaps are too big. Magneto has a longer lifespan, and was around 60+ when he was with Rogue, who was over 18. People hate the age gap. Sabretooth is over 100. He had a relationship with an 18-year-old, people found it gross. Then he fell in love with Monet, who was anywhere between 19 - 23, and once again some are complaining the age gap is too big. Monet is a grown woman who lost her mother to her brother at a young age, then was tortured by said brother for years, escaped and continued fighting the good fight, had her first relationship at 17, then lost said boyfriend to a horrible death, then died and got sent to Hell at 18, only being resurrected by the sacrifice and subsequent death of her new boyfriend. Monet was far from an innocent young girl with no life experience by the time Sabretooth met her.

none of that is fine.
anyway. it looked creepy FOR ME until s3
Different strokes and all I guess. I found it way more creepy that Whedon punished Buffy for that act. The beginning of a habit with the alpha females on the shows. It's not the last time that Buffy is punished for expressing sexuality/sexual desire and Cordy is in the same boat.

I always thought age of consent was fine at 16, like they have it in the UK. Unless they finally upped it.
It's 14 in my country. However it gets a little complicated there since the age of the sexual partner matters. But even then, I always figured B/A to be in the realm of consent the way I knew. Buffy was 17 and Angel's age was never mentioned. I figured him to be about 19/20 (in human years) because he looked the same age as Cordelia (who looked a little older than a high school girl). So I never thought B/A was creepy in that regard. Now, Buffy sleeping with a dead body I have way more issues with. Because eww.

older dead - all of this. but still i can't judge that with things and morals that apply to my world cause well it doesn't work like that. but you know. still felt uncomfortable. that's all i've meant really. personal impression
I think Willow, Anya, Fred and Faith have plenty of angst-free coitus.
Basically if you date- or try to date- vampires, then it doesn't end well.
Agreed. I don't think the show ever depicted SEX as bad. So much as sex with the certain, or even the wrong, people can be bad.

Buffy had plenty of sex with Riley, and I don't think she ever suffered there. Arguably, while flawed, Riley was the most healthy guy she dated. lol Angel had Angelus to contend with, Spike was evil. Finally Parker she didn't really know that well or long before they had sex. He was a rebound guy from her losing Angel, and he told her all the nice things many young girls like to hear, and Buffy fell for his lines.

It's not just vampires for Buffy, there is also Parker after all. Riley was the only relationship/sex partner where Whedon didn't punish Buffy for it. Cordy got knocked up with demon spawns all the time and wasn't even there during the Connor thing.

The one pairing what annoys me the most is of course Nangel!

I can't even describe how much.

Buffy did get punished for Riley. The morning after is interrupted so his boss can try to murder her, he takes off on Buffy instead of talking, the boss is killed and he accuses her of being happy when she was the innocent party, he trips from drug withdrawal causing him to get physically rough & paranoid towards Buffy, he gets taken away to a military hospital where she's not allowed to see him for a week, the day they reunite Faith awakes from the coma and gets so jealous of their relationship she rapes both of them, Buffy is so floored and feels uncomfortable around him she contemplates just breaking up

And then when she decides to stay with him and give sex another chance, they end up as batteries forced to continue having sex against their will in a poltergeist house and nearly die

Buffy did get punished for Riley.

But NONE of what you go on to say- and its a bunch- is as a direct result of Buffy and Riley sleeping together; its simply drama that tests their burgeoning relationship.

Walsh makes an attempt on Buffy's life because she mentions 314 during pillow-talk and Walsh and creepy surveillance of creepiness overhears and springs into action.

'Punished for having the sex happens too often to Buffy, but her relationship with Riley is no example.

I mean, by 'WTWTA' there is no long-lasting trauma from their previous sexual dramas. Then their boink-aton happens and that doesn't bother them either. Some punishment.

I count it since it began during the morning after talk. That doesn't happen with other couples. It could have happened in the next week but the writers chose minutes after she woke up from sex with a new partner. The immediate wrench in the relationship after the first sex is there for Buffy's first time with Angel, Parker, & Riley.

Riley takes off on her literally the first day after sex. He's accusing her of murder & getting violent with her on the second day. Then she doesn't get to see him for a week directly after those 2-3 days of his erratic behavior. She never got to touch base after sex or have a honeymoon period. And then when you think she's going to get it only delayed instead their bodies are used to rape each other.

They weren't too bothered by what happened in WTWTA but they still almost died. People's lives were in danger because they were having sex. Her sex life became the case. That rarely happens to other characters.
