need that episode if "Needs" was going to go into the past of the characters. I mean sure there was the info about Echo, but i felt aside from the wacky out of personality stints, it wasnt that great of an episode.
I'm not really understanding your question. Are you saying, other than what we learned about Caroline/Echo, the episode was a waste? I'd have to disagree. This episode allowed the actors to break out of the routine episodes they've done so far. They could be goofy and more candid without taking away from the flow of the story they were currently in. It did the same for the audience. New Joss fans got to see what a lot of Joss alumni love the most - his witt. Plus it allowed Eliza to play someone other than Always-Action-Girl. That line "I'm not even sure if I know how to make a fist" was too good.

.. and because it gave us a lot more background as to how Caroline got into the Dollhouse, and what happened to her and things like that.
Also, I'm still intrigued by the flashbacks Victor got, was he a soldier of sorts?

I think Victor was a firefighter....or I like to hope he was. It was implied though, that he saved Sierra and that's how they met?

I thought it was necessary...other then the comments made above me about Caroline which i agree with but i liked the whole idea of it...it had a very Joss like feel to it...I liked the whole thing about resolvement etc...I think it was needed!
Plus there was quite alot of Dr.Saunders compared to some weeks...which in itself makes it deffinately airable 😀
