So I read about this on someone's Facebook and can not for the life of me remember enough to find it again!

The idea behind it is basically that every time ASH reads a news article that makes him sad he will put a penny in a jar and each time it is full he will donate the money to charity. Basically taking negativity and turning it into a positive. I love love love this idea and have started my own jar coin collection.

Does anyone know where I can re-read the story about Tony Head that I read?

that's a great idea, not just for charity but for your own mindset. ASH is awesome
Did you see it on his fb or twitter?

See a penny, pick it up.....

As part of a thread that is running on the Tilley Farm FB page we are collecting money for animals in need and changing the way negative stories make us feel.

Everytime we hear, see or read anything distressing, we will put some pennies in our jar and when it is full we will donate the money to an animal welfare organisation.

We have labelled our jar Positive Change.

positive change... what a great idea!
I did something similar a few years back, except when I went into a charity shop with a jar full of uncounted pennies, they looked at me as if I was offering them a rotting fish! It's probably a good idea to look for somewhere that actually has a collection on at the time.

In Perth we can just take the coins to a local bank and swap it for cashola or get it put in our account.

I already know that I'll be donating to refugee rights so that part is easy.

Probably won't have a significant amount for awhile anyway though.

And thanks Kim!
