@Buffy Summers Twenty years is a long time for a board like this. Why do you think it’s lasted so long? When you think about board history, do you envision it in “eras”? What is your favorite “era”?

I was dorm prefect before being a mod, and enjoyed that, so I figured it would be similar to that.

That is a tricky one. I’m assuming it has to be something that released in 2022? If so, The Batman. I just really loved that movie and I thought it melded “serial killer” and “Batman” together really well in a way that worked. TV show would probably be Cyberpunk Edgerunners. It’s really good and I love the characters, especially Lucy.
I am not on any other fan forums. 🙂 This is my primary forum, hence why I am here often. (Perhaps too often!)
Yes I would win. How would I win? Well, thinking seems to be her Achilles Heel, so I think I’m good on that front. 😂
I don’t think I could really explain it. I just appreciated that someone (@Buffy Summers ) saw something in me enough to ask in the first place. Why not? If it didn’t work out I could always quit, and yet…here I am several months later having hosted the Buffies. At this point it would seem you all are stuck with me. 😉
I only have a goal to keep this place’s energy and vibe the same as when I found it, as I have mentioned elsewhere. This is a very special place for me, and I know it is for many of you out there and I know it will be for many others who haven’t found us yet. 🙂

I don’t really know! I watched Buffy when I was too old to be shaped by it, but I will say that it gave me this weird affection towards shipping and romance. Now I’m a Spuffy and Tillow diehard 😵💫 so I guess I learned that?

French! I actually just got a book to help self teach it. It has always sort of gelled with me and I love the romantic languages. I already know Spanish and tried German (not for long though)
Well, looking at what actually came out in 2022, I haven't really watched much. Been reading a lot more lately. I did see The Batman and liked it, and I watched Becoming Elizabeth which I liked. I wouldn't say I loved either of those. Does it count if I only watched it in 2022? In that case I say Lupin. I'm disappointed in tv and movies in general lately.

Honestly, I think it's lasted because it's lasted. We didn't close it when it probably made sense to (lol). So because it's always been there, people flow in and out and come back. And now that new people are discovering it, we're getting new people. We also require people to treat each other with respect. This is not for everyone, and some people will leave because of it, but it leaves us a core good group of people.
I think there are eras. Some are based on who the mods were. Matt and me; Willow Rosenberg, Oz, Faith and me; Cordelia and Jacklyn; Lyri and Kean. There's also eras kind of how people were. There was the time when the show was still on and people wrote long posts. Which is quite different from today when things aren't often "new" and people write much less. Or an era where people were really hostile towards each other.
I think when the core 4 of us were here, back when Angel was still on. It was a lot of fun. We used to be constantly on MSN Messenger! lol. People had less competition for their time online, and board activities were really popular.

Here’s a question from one staff to another, but why didn’t you close it down when it made sense? Why did it make sense to close it?

I didn't close it because there were people here who still enjoyed it.
Because the show was over and the site wasn't as active anymore.
I think the same reasoning still holds. It's not fair to the people who still come here to close it.
I always thought this was the best site. We never tried to be the biggest, just the nicest to be at.
I would like to go to Egypt & see ancient pyramides & discover more ancient/antiquity & pagan Egypt places/culture with my own eyes.
Since I've watched Vikings the show, I would love to go in these lands (Scandinavia), it's kind of dreamy & beautiful to watch the nature in this show.
I also see on Youtube videos places filled with cats in Istanbul so it would be fantastic to visit places filled with cats. HEAVEN ON EARTH. 😍

I don't know because I don't think it will happen. I don't do lottery/money games. One of my brother & mom are INTO money games (PMU) since I was a child & give a lot of their own money in it like more than 20 years. They don't win much & lose a freaking lots of money. It makes them pissed about life but addicted to it, wanting TO WIN so I have such a disdain.
But one of my aunt won lottery one time. Some have good luck.
To answer the question, I think I will want to travel with my family, I never did boat. I would maybe spare some money if I need it later for my pet (cat) if he become sick. I think I would buy a freaking expensive computer & TV.
I regret being dumb or socially weird/awkward as a little girl, also not being more brave in sport classes & such (I could be like Carrie from the movie if you know what I mean lol) 😅. If I would redo my life with the same mentality that I have now, I would be less seen as dumb & weird in front of my school classmates. Being socially anxious hasn't changed but it all started when I was younger.
I also regret I didn't took any consultations in the vet for my first pet, the last time I saw him (2010), he kind of became sooo aggressive repeatedly towards us his owners so we kind of abandonned him & never saw him back 🥺. Who knows what happened to him, if he got killed & maybe he was sick (health) which maybe lead him to become aggressive as a cry for help.
I take now visitations & consultations in the vet each year for my present cat (I have him since 2014)
Proud of : I really don't know maybe taking more care of myself (skin care).
