Assignment for *Charmed Slayer* and Wicked: Comics Styles.

Old Master is temporarily out of commision. He's ill. I told him I'd fill in here, but I've been neglecting my duties. Sorry about that.

First of all on the White Hats one. There are going to be reasons to go to a slightly different style on that one. Can you two try something like this. A simple white cowboy hat. Light background. Before the hat are four badges. One marshall's badge with 3 deputy stars. They could even be labelled with the character names if you like. You can also try something else if you like. The only guidelines would be it should not be dark, and should be unique.

Now on the sizing, and such. I'm going to be needing someone I can work with one on one to tweak things in a way which will co-ordinate with the larger collaborated vision of the project. I'll be contacting one of the art people who hasn't been assigned anything yet to see if they're interested. When something is tweaked it will be shown to the original artist for feedback, and to illustrate the larger direction. For now it's great if you just continue what you're doing. Experiment with stuff. Find original takes on things.

These pics will be for an index. If you'd like a general idea of what I mean by that click on the link at the top of the page for Tales of the Slayer. This project's index won't be exactly like that, but you get the idea.

Update

So I've been strategizing and thinking trying to decide what an index should look like. I considered some pretty radical stuff. At one point I mused over a map of america with little character Icons, and numbers. 🙂 I considered graphics going from side to side across the page. I considered something like that great castle picture Goldenboy did where the characters were placed in the windows.

After all that though I've decided the best index is something simple yet elegant like what Buffy Summers has for the Tales of the Slayers index.

OK, so now that I know the format I can talk with greater confidence about what's required.

The icons will form a vertical line down the left of the page, with a little text to the right of each graphic, just like Tales of the Slayers. It will look like this...

1. Prequel - pic required.

2. Faith - We'll use this one

Is it possible I could see this one with some sort of border or frame around it?

3. Kendra - Here something is needed that will shadow the Faith pic above in style, and look. Think of the 2 pics side by side.

4. Kakistos - We'll use this one -

Could I also see what this one looks like with a border or frame.

Actually hold off on doing this one and the one below for a while. Goldenboy hasn't seen this chapter yet, so he hasn't chosen an actor to play the watcher.

More like chapters. If you look Here you'll see two Faith, and Kendra. It will take a while to download though Buffy. I wasn't being sympathetic to slow connections there. In actuality those 2 chapters would hopefully be broken up into pages which would download quicker.

Is that a problem, chapters rather than stories? The purpose of the index would be for people to stop reading, then easily find their place later, or find a new chapter as it presented itself.
 
Ok, the only problem with making the Kendra one look like the Faith one is the picture itself. It really hard to get a decent picture of Kendra. They are all kind of dark so its difficult to get the same effect. Another thing is, Hannah will have to do it. She uses a different program from me hence the slightly different effect.
 
yeah the kendra pics are hard cos they are all dark.. and getting it to look like that is hard as it goes blotchy.. but i will try... 🙂 Wicked, im sure you could do it like that.. just muck around with the contrast ... thats what i did
 
hmm.. well all i did.. was use the cartoon option.. changed a couple of levels and then the contrast.. i like yours. how did you do it? x
 
Dont have a cartoon option. Its cut out and something else that I cant remember at the moment 🙂
