So I guess Joss's time on X Men is coming to a close soon.

Official Press Release

It's the beginning of Joss Whedon and John Cassaday's final arc on Astonishing X-Men in issue #19 and this story will prove that they are more than the best creative team in comics: They are Unstoppable.

Each issue of the "Unstoppable" arc will feature 50/50 covers by John Cassaday, with one cover of each issue featuring an iconic shot of a different Astonishing team member. Seen here for the first time is Astonishing X-Men #19's variant cover featuring none other than a visorless Cyclops.

After the shocking events of "Torn," the X-Men, along with Ord and Danger, have been transported to Breakworld; the very world that Colossus is prophesized to destroy. Will everyone make it back to Earth? Even if they manage to return, nothing will ever be the same.

Whedon and Cassaday's run on Astonishing has been compared to some of the great X-Men stories of the past, including stories by Claremont, Byrne, and Lee. Watch X-Men history in the making as Whedon and Cassaday show just why the X-Men are "Unstoppable," beginning in Astonishing X-Men #19.

It's coming to a close soon in the sense that there are six issues left. But we should place bets on how long it'll take for those six issues to come out.
