Astronauts VS cavemen??

Cavemen all the way. They have brute strength and it doesn't take that much intelligence to hit someone! and astronaut would think about where to hit rather than just doing it which would give the caveman some advantage! 😀

Okay, assuming the ausronauts don't have any fancy modern weapons, there's no way they would win. I mean, come on, do they ever have to fight? The cavemen, on the other hand, need to hunt for food etc., they probably know what they're doing when they beat the crap out of some crazy austronauts.

I just had an interesting thought, discussing this with my parents and grandparents (all of them are blissfully unaware of the existence of the Buffyverse) and sister (she has a clue); if the fight actuallt had to take place, the astronauts would be astronauts from the future, since contemporary astronauts have no way of getting a proper caveman to our day and age. So they would have to get them here using some time teleportation thingy (or get themselves back there). Ergo, astronauts from the future. And then, we'd have to think about how astronauts from the future look like. Maybe they become very strong. Or, very fat. And in either case, it becomes less likely that the caveman will win. Ah! Interesting idea, right?

I think people focus on the wrong thing in this discussion.

Its basic element is Modern Man vs Pre-Historic man.

Not gadgets vs wooden clubs.

It is man vs man from different time periods.

Would a man on the street, who buys everything he needs, may go to the gym but isn't well versed in the art of hunting and fight, be able to beat a man who daily hunted, fought and killed dangerous animals to eat and fought and killed animals that would try and kill them?

At best a trained Soldier COULD be a match but even then, I think the 'Caveman' would have an advantage.

I think Caveman wins, hands down.

Lol. You gotta be kidding me. xD How awesomely funny, intersting and very true is that.

I myself had to think of Stanley Kubrick's Space Odyssee 2001. Anyway, assuming it were possible to get a present day astronaut (What about Cosmonauts? I scent discrimination) would he survive a bareknuckle fight with a caveman? Mh, well the caveman wouldn't be allowed to take his club into the fight, but at the same time the astronaut wouldn't be allowed to take a gun. Mh, I think the caveman would win, as I doubt that astronauts or cosmonauts are trained in close combat. At least I'd be worried, if they get such training. Is NASA worrying about their astronauts being attacked by vicious stones or the possibility of destorying a meteorite with a precisely struck roundhouse kick? I hope not.

However, ever since that female NASA astronaut went nuts in the states in her diapers, there still might be some hope left for our generation. I bet she could kick a caveman's butt. BTW: Isn't it sexist to call them caveman? I'll petition for the use of caveperson. 🙂

OMG! You didn't just say that, did you? 😀 I guess if NASA sent her in to fight teh caveman, he'd run away because of the smell 😛

"Of course cavemen win."

Fred said. During the whole episode, when I was not overwhelmed with sadness, I asked myself the question. And when Fred was dying, I understood what it meant. It's not about a fair fight. It's about primal forces and modern science. And of course cavemen win.
