Astronomical Buffy reference - "DART The Asteroid Slayer"

Given how often these things get screwed up, I hope we don't get an ironic disaster.

Thankfully, my view that our entire species (past, present, and future) are insignificant on a cosmic scale helps me feel better, like our rocket was no more than a gnat to it (and possibly meant as a publicity stunt and/or distraction, and if it leads to something that can actually work later, then so much the better)...at least until a large asteroid actually is on a collision course for us, at which point I will accept our doom.

Wow here I was all excited that we had an asteroid deflection/elimination protocol, and now I’m just thinking of “DART the Human Slayer”. Thanks! 😂
