Ats opening credits : The background

I've noticed when the actors name show up, there're backgrounds. And those backgrounds relate to each characters. What I've seen in season 3 credits is...

Gunn - The alley
Wesley - Picture from books
Fred - The cave in Pylea

I can't tell what are the Angel and Cordy' backgrounds.

Anyone has information about this for all the Ats seasons? I think Fred's background had changed in s4(It's full-writing wall in her room) 🙂

Umm, I'm not sure if you guys understand what I'm talking about. So I did search some pics.

Season 1 Opening Credits Version 1

The show name : Looks like it's a desk with book on it. Is that a glass on the top?

David Boreanaz(Angel) : It can be windows or a wall.

Charisma Carpenter(Cordelia) : Looks like a wall with some scary shadows to me.

Glenn Quinn(Doyle) : Obviously, it's a room. But whose room is it? I'm quite sure it's Doyle's.

I think Angel's is the sewers? You know, the ways he takes when it's daylight outside...

I also checked some other ones...I think Connor's background is a night club, Spike's is the city, and Lorne's could be the book that opens portals? Doyle's was Doyle talking to some other guy i think...

But I just can't figure out what Cordy's is! But having watched the openings to several seasons a lot just now, I think she has two different backgrounds?

^ Thanks. I think Doyle is talking to Cordy. It didn't change when Wesley replaced him. I'm not sure about Cordy's though. I'm searching opening pics. 🙂

Angel's title shots backround is from the scene in the ep when hes all happy and he confronts the evil doer causing this and his books are lit by a red light.

The Cordy one is from "In The Dark" the part where she says to Spike: "When you're through giving the place the full Johnny Depp-over, I hope you have the cash to pay for all this"

Title's and Angel's didn't changed.

But what we got more from Cordelia's one? We see people in it. But still don't know where it is.

Wesley's is a pic from a book.

Newest main character, Charles Gunn. 😀 It's the alley.

Season 3

Title's, Angel's, Wesley's and Gunn's didn't changed.

Cordy's one is still from the same place with something different(again). Looks like it turned upside down. 🙂

Season 4

Everyone has the same backgrounds like in season 3.

Connor's one is, like Kristine said, a night club.

I can't find Lorne's background screencap, though.

Here's Harmony's and Spike's aswell, so that we have them all together.

Harm seems to have gotten Cordelia's S3 background while Spike's is a street.

I understand that all backgrounds relate to the characters, but what the hell has a night club to do with Connor?

Season 5

All the same with new main characters.

New champion in town, Spike. His background is, like Kristine said, city and streets.

Lorne's one is the papers that have information from his head that made the X mark in season 4. 😉

Illyria's still like Fred's

And apparently, Harmony stole Cordy's background. I don't know why I have to be pissed a little. But hey, they were best friends. 😀

Some backgrounds are related to the characters, some aren't. 🙂

OK I was just watching In the Dark here and I figured out what Cordys background is.


I'm not sure what episode it's from or if it's from an episode at all, however when you watch it instead of looking at stills, it's a bunch of people in line waiting to get in a club and it's panning past them all.

But there are shadows that are not human. It's like trees. And on the wall, looks like it's paint.

I tried to look at these backgrounds everytime I watch Angel, but some move so fast. Like, Angel's, Cordy's and Spike's. 🙂

I'm thinking Lorne's is the map Wolfram and Hart extracted from his head to do with The Beast storyline.

You can see the lines, I think, which form the symbol on the map.

Was it the archaic symbol for fire? I can't remember it's been a while since I watched that arc :/
