Am i the only one that thinks Angel is better(just a bit) Than Buffy? I feel its a bit more mature, and more connectable that Buffy(which is more a teenagers show)

See, people always get that misconception about Buffy, and about "high school oriented" shows in general. Just because it's set in high school, and it features teenagers, doesn't mean it isn't as relatable. Last time I checked, we were all teens at some point in time, (unless you age backwards, like Benjamin Button 😛). The show's about being human in general, and how we struggle through life. Plus, there were only 3 seasons of the "teenage" years, so I don't get where that's coming from. Anyway, I picked Buffy. I can babble all day long as to why Buffy is better than Angel (IMO), but it would be pointless, and my fingers are lazy. 😛

Benji button 😀 I just feel the whole dynamic of the Ats characters are more realistic, and the big bad being a law firm rather than big snakes and weird robot guys. Gunn Fred > Xander Willow(in realistic terms.)

A supernatural law firm, with their clients being slimy demons and blind karate women. 😛 I don't see law firms like that around these parts. 😀 They're both realistic, IMO. They both deal with very human issues, like the transition from a child to a young adult, redemption, love, sacrifice, etc, etc. I just relate to the Scoobies more. Plus, I love the sheer quality of the plots, and the entertainment value on Buffy more than I do on Angel. It took years and years to get into Angel, (and even once I got invested, I found myself frankly bored). It's all subjective anyway.

I'm starting to think we are the same person.
Buffy stole my heart and never gave it back! In Angel I only appreciate some of the interaction between the characters but not the whole setting... 🙂

I really like Ats, but I think Btvs is way better. It has more interesting characters and plots that really make you think. I think Ats is great, but it still can't compare. In my opinion that is. I can see why people would prefer Angel. But I don't. 😀

I always preferred Angel. The tone is more serious, darker, and mature. The characters are much more responsible are held responsible for their actions. The characters are developed much more fully on Angel and although there aren't as many Big Bads on this show as on Buffy, the stakes always feel much higher.

It was tough for me to pick, I would have used to say they are tied.... But i went with Buffy only becuz BtVS gets massive points for nostalgia, i find it more enjoyably nastolgic, but they were both terrific

BtVS is brilliant from the first episode to the last. There were a couple of bad episodes, while AtS had many bad episodes. And the Connor/Cordy mess.... yuck!!

For me, every season of BtVS is great, while only Season 5 of Angel hits greatness and keeps it until the very end.

Definitely.
Angel will always be my favorite. I love them both but Angel is what I saw first and Angel is the reason I'm in the whedonverse at all. I love it and I always will.

I understand what @Mr Giles is saying about Angel being more mature I always have a hard time trying to explain beyond that lol. They're both relatable in different ways but Btvs has the mind set of growing up it starts in highschool and even in the later seasons its more about these kids trying to deal with life and growing up and everything thats going on around them. Where as in Angel its more young adults dealing with their relationships with eachother and the darkness in the world and less about growing up. Idk thats the best I can put it in to words.

Buffy. Buffy Buffy Buffy. I will never, ever get tired of re-watching Buffy. It has been 10 years since I fell in love with the show, and I still do series re-watches now and then. I just started Angel this November, I believe. It was enjoyable, but I felt like skipping some season 1 episodes during my first watch of it. I can't imagine doing that with Buffy. When I'd get a Buffy season on DVD for Christmas, I would not leave my room until I finished it.

Buffy, always and forever. There is never a dull moment on that show for me...and watching it a billion times won't change that. I just started my second Angel re-watch and I can barely make it past the second season.

But I do love Fred more than Willow! 😉

Agree on everything excep the Willow part. ;)
Buffy. Buffy is more multifaceted than Angel. There had been so many changes. Angel instead is pretty cool too but the hole story was more less the same. Kill demons, destroy Wolfram and Hart. And I think the feelings and relationships in BTVS are deeper than the ones in Angel!

Quality-wise, I think they're just as good, but I prefer Buffy, mainly because I like the characters more, I mean by the end of ats season 5 there was hardly any likeable characters left, and the ones I used to like had gone bad or simply depressing.

The more wacky light feel (pre-season 6 anyway) on Buffy makes me like it more too.

Fine, yes, I voted for the same. I like both Angel and Buffy just as much, there's things I like and dislike on both shows, it evens out. I can't really say that I prefer one show over the other.

Angel

Buffy is one of the worst planned television series ever. Mainly because of how bad Giles and Xander suck in the last couple seasons. And Season 7 is just awful in every single way imaginable.

I chose Buffy.

It is the show that brought me here, to this forum. I only just finished Angel. Buffy is the show that has seen me through so much in the past year, made me so happy and special. It is the show I discuss the most. I just love the overall dynamic and there isn't a single season that I dislike in any way.

I love Angel, it is my second favourite TV series. However, it gets second place because a) the place in my heart that it holds isn't quite as big and b) sometimes it lets me down rather a lot. I really dislike season two and I am not the biggest plan of season four. I adore Fred so much, I am completely in love with Wesley and I am forever adoring seasons three and five with all of my being but Buffy does win over.

I voted Angel, but it only just edges out ahead of Buffy in my books.

Part of it is because of the issues other people touched on like Maturity. The other part of it is because of their backgrounds. Buffy is a superhero and champion of all things good. Whilst Angel gives off more of an Anti-Hero vibe. He's like Batman in LA but with supernatural powers and without the moral code of not being afraid to kill bad people. He's slightly more compelling because of that angle and his evil past.
