OK, so I've watched BTVS since I was five, when it first aired, and I did watch Angel as well, and while there was lots I forgot about BTVS, there was even more I've forgotten about ATS.

I'm thinking about starting watching it again, but then I think that if I can't remember much from first time around, it might not be worth it.

So if you're up for the challenge, I want you to sell it to me (NO SPOILERS PLEASE!)

I haven't really watched AtS either.. I was never really fond of it. I'm re-watching BtVS now, and I think I'm gonna start watching AtS when I finish S3 of BtVS. 🙂
But I think you should watch it again. I'll give it another chance and see if I like it more this time.

Watch it!! It has a different view on the buffyverse and you will be introduced to some awesome characters, and get a lot more from some of the best characters from Buffy! Angel is darker than Buffy, however, it has lots of laughs and romance which contrast the darker side of Buffy that is Angel 😀

Okay. You asked for it, mate. 😉

Pro's of Angel:

1. Angel himself. There's so much contrast in character between the two series, there's this whole new beautiful side to him that we didn't get to experience in BTVS. Oddly, he came out of his shell after breaking up with Buffy. (Don't kill me Bangel's)
He's brilliant in ATS. He's actually funny. So, if you don't watch ATS, you won't experience this new and improved Angel!

2. Illyria/Fred. AHHHHHHHH. C'mon, Amy Acker is absolutely freaking amazing, I don't know how she accomplished such a dramatic change in character with Illyria. Fred is this sweet, insanely intelligent, friendly girl who you have to love because she's too damn nice not to! Then, BAM, Illyria comes along and you have to love her just as much because she's a superpowered chick who is.. blue. YES.

3. Lorne. Andy Hallett. Enough said. You'll never find a character like Lorne, played so beautifully by someone like Andy. Amazing. Plus, singing green demon, who can beat that?

4. Cordelia's personality change. I loved Cordy in BTVS, don't get me wrong, but she really blossoms in ATS. You don't see Cordy's true personality until you watch ATS, she truly turns into an actual person who cares. I'm sure a fair few people can back me up on that one, seriously. She's awesome.

5. The dark plots. Don't get me started, there's a shock at every turn in season 4. I was just getting over one plot twist, then another one hits me right in the face. Clever, clever writing. The Beast? Scary ass dude with a major moisturising problem. Brilliant!

6. Wesley, Wesley, Wesley. Cute nerd in BTVS, cute nerd in ATS. Oh wait, he turns into a sexy bearded legend with no mercy. Did I mention I love ATS?

7. Doyle. Irish legend.

8. SPIKE IN SERIES 5 YESSSSSSSSSSSS.

I've probably forgotten some stuff but I'm way too tired to write more. I'm sure you can tell, as my sentences are getting shorter and shorter. Yay me.

I feel like I've spoilt a lot for some reason. I don't think I went too into detail, did I? Oh dear. I'm going to bed.

I love BtVS, but I think it was running out of steam in Season 7. Not so with AtS. AtS is hitting its stride in Season 5, and the final episode is one of my favorites of the entire Buffyverse.

BTW, I HATE (yes, HATE) Wesley in BtVS. But I LOVE (yes, LOVE) Wesley on AtS.

And Cordy in BtVS is a "girl." On AtS, she is a "woman." I love both Cordys, but they are so different.

And Amy is so darn cute. :love10:

I think you should give Angel a go for the reasons everyone has said. Plus I think Angel has some amazing characters and as a whole is brilliant.

Angel has better characters. They don't crumble in the last 2 seasons of the show like the Scoobies did, the Fang Gang is a much strong family...yea I said it lol
