There was a shooting at the Trump rally. Trump was rushed off, and was somewhat injured. There was one casualty, not including the shooter, who was also killed.
 
I duno if this will be flagged as political, but I saw it on X twenty minutes before the Aust news media picked it up!

Its all over my tv now. We're gona see it from all angles.

Sad for the innocent bystanders in this.

Strange innit, so many guns are in private hands and so many shootings are done at schools, I never thought them shooters went to school to learn how to shoot properly, . . . . to soon?
Serious question time:
Was it one of Trump's disgruntled supporters who attempted to shoot him?
 
I've seen the footage; Trump moves his head seconds before the shot is seen (he clutches his ear) and then the shots are heard.

1 supporter dead and two injured as of the most recent reports.

What an odd suggestion to make, given the current political environment and the ramping up of vitriol directed at the man over the past 8 years.
I'm leaving any assumptions/proclamations until the shooter is identified but many will have suspicious based on recent events.
 
I will admit I couldn’t quite believe it was happened when it was on the news live. Like such a surreal moment. My brain couldn’t process what I was watching. Especially in an age that security is SO ramped up for these things.

I saw the news about this last night. It was so unreal that I could only shake my head. It never, ever occurred to me that something like this would happen.

A few liberal media outlets and commentators have suggested that the Trump campaign "faked" the entire incident. Sure they did. 🙄 You'd have to be extremely naive to believe that. In many ways, this assassination attempt mirrors the JFK and RFK shootings: Trump was surrounded by Secret Service, the area was SUPPOSED to be secure, but a "lone gunman" somehow managed to squeeze off several shots. And of course, the first rule of assassination is to kill the shooter.

Lone gunman my ass. It's pretty obvious who arranged the Trump shooting. And it sends chills down my spine. The fact that this happened so close to the hilarious Presidential debate speaks volumes.

Yeah the tv media here went from shock to suggestions along this line of thinking, very quickly. Its just bizarre why they hate him SO much more than presidents who are currently engaged in war.

I couldn't care less who wins, but the Trump hatred is over the top and has been for a long time now. Its encouraging dangerous behaviour. Everyone will know this shooters name, and that's probably exactly how he wanted to go down in history.

I saw the interviews on tv from witnesses who said they reported the shooter and cops did nothing, but they have no idea what was going on behind the scenes. They were obviously in action mode being able to take the shooter out so quickly. Having an outside air event would be hard to monitor.

I also saw a lot of comments that no one in the crowd scattered after the shots, but staying put and calm was a much smarter move in a situation like that. A stampede is just adding disaster to a situation that was controlled quite swiftly.

Its already dropped off my news and x feeds.

This entire situation shows just how much hate is involved in the election. Honestly, certain factions of the media (and government) have tried SO HARD to destroy any chance of Trump winning. Impeachment, various slanders, bogus criminal charges...but he's STILL here. That's actually rather impressive. Especially when the Justice Department has been "weaponized" against him for four years.

That bullet he took might have stung a bit, but it just won him the Presidency. And thank God for that, because I'm really sick of the insane prices, jaw-dropping homeless situation, illegal alien invasion, and massive crime wave we're currently experiencing.

And it will be soooo nice when men aren't legally allowed to invade the women's restroom...or women's sports.

that's very interesting because the media I see is harping over Biden's age, ignoring the 34 felonies by Trump, how his own age is only about three and half years younger than Biden, and the non stop lying in the debates. Such as claims we're in a crime wave

The media WANTS Trump in power cause then they can talk about all the shit he's doing

It's incredible in a thread about an assassination attempt that already somebody is saying 'yeah but the hate is justified and he's gonna ruin the country and he lies and he's just as old as Biden and he's going to ruin everything.'

Also TERF is a slur that says so much about the poster. ffs.

Yeah it probably was better for them to not run but I'm still surprised people didn't, I'm surprised about how calm some of them seemed, especially all the people sat behind Trump. Maybe Americans are just built different or used to it. I'm really sad for the family that had to see a loved one be shot in the head.
