I realize there has been some discontent amongst certain members due to a number of my posts. One of these members is Charisma.
I just received a PM from her, which I find to be the epitome of everything you strive to avoid on this board.

I realize that I may have annoyed some people, although I still remain adamant that I have not done anything particularly wrong, but I feel that there is no reason for me to accept her insinuations.

In her PM she enquired as to whether I was asian...

Now, I realize that following 9/11, and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq that there is some xenophobic behaviour to be expected, but it should not be tolerated!

I'm all for patriotism, but insinuating that just because I've caused some malcontent on the board that I'm sort of terrorist is just disgusting.

I didn't think I would ever be offended over something on the Internet, but I've never encountered such racism and awful attitudes.
 
I'm unsure of who deals with this sort of thing, besides, this sort of behaviour shouldn't be swept under the carpet.
 
He has PM'd me and I would ask at this time that the matter lie in this thread.

Hello excuse me what did I PM to you that was so offensive. Huh?? I just asked if you were Asian and I wrote friendly messgae as the title of the PM. Because the name Shekinah sounded Asian because I am Asian too, so I wanted to know if yuo were too. I thought we could be friends hence friendly message you know being nice. I don't know how that was offensive. I did not mean it to sound that way atleast and plus I am from India and your name sounded Indian thats it nothing racist about it and everyone know that I am from India here. I have told them that my name means something in a where are you from topic
 
I know I shouldn't be responding to this and leaving it up to the mods, but it's ultimately proven to be too difficult to refrain from doing so.

Am I expected to believe that after making a direct attack on me in my thread, you then decided to PM me in the hope of becoming friends because I'm Asian? I'm sorry, but this just sounds horribly far fetched. Why should me being Asian influence your decision to be my friend?

I'm sorry, but it reeks of "Oh, I'm not racist, I have a black friend!"...

Lastly, I don't think my name sounds Asian in any way... not that it stopped your malicious comments.

I will now leave this matter in the hands of the mods. I think that your motives were obvious, and I can only hope that you will be dealt with appropriately.
 
Sounds like there might be a misunderstanding going on, but if either of you would like to talk further about it please feel free to pm me. I will be away from the computer for the weekend, unfortuneately, but I will gladly talk things out when I am back online.

If at any time anyone has a problem with another member, please feel free to pm me or another member of the staff. 🙂
 
I would say in a private matter, a PM to a moderator and or admin would be the most appropriate, but if its something that occurs often, then I think it would be best for it to be addressed in a public manner. Although Don't get me wrong, I think people should deserve privacy.

I can see a rude comment if your in opposition of what they state or if its in a funny way that they too will laught at themselves, but if you do it with a harmful meaning behind it, its just not right. No one deserves to be made fun of or to be harrassed. Also, racial comments should not be allowed. If someone has made a comment to you like that I could imagine you being extremely offensive, and you have the right to be, but not if they just asked if you were of a certain decent.

But now after reading some of your posts, I do think you intentionally said some hurtful things. Unless your just a blunt Cordy like person.

Look I am trying to be friendly and put the argument behind us and be civilised I just wanted to be frieds with you so we can clear up thing. I am not trying to be nasty why won't you get the point. Okay I will be your friend even if you are not Asian I just wanted to start fresh with you I don'r want to argue with you and I AM SORRY I "Are you Asian" sounded offensive I wanted to know out of interest dude not to be nasty i like to make friends on the board and there have been many cases where i have not got along people first and then made friends with them. I was genuely being nice to you please don't take it the wrong way. Okay so even if you are not Asian I will still be yuor friend I just wanted to know out of Interest you see not to hurt to you. i have no malicious plan to make you go into pain
