Attraction

Qualities I'm attracted to are confidence and wit. I like intelligent guys who don't struggle to make conversation. He's got to accept that I do what I want and can be a brat. Physically I'm attracted to darker tones. Also, he's got to be able to look past walls I put up, since most people can't. I don't like men who are sexist and men who need constant attention and reassurance.

I don't open up to people and don't bond easily. I use flirtation as a method to an end and it often gets mistaken as interest.

I don't see any walls. :p
For me it's probably selflessness and caring. I basically want to marry a guy version of Mother Theresa lol. Seriously, seeing someone who puts others ahead of themselves is a big turnon for me. I don't really care about physical but I've always been attracted to thin, non muscular guys for some reason.

What I look for in a lifelong partner? Well it's simple really...

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s27wzCasOt4&feature=relmfu"]Gube hypnotizing a chicken[/ame]

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4OEcYHRitc"]Gube bowling[/ame]

Yep, that's about it.

If I were being realistic...I'd say that my ideal guy and/or girl has to be funny, nice, interested in hunting people, taxidermy (yes I'm a pescetarian but I enjoy looking at taxidermy okay!?), gourds, pumpkins, monogrammed mugs, butternut squash, Halloween, reading Edgar Allan Poe poems (specifically Annabelle Lee) to me when I have the flu, telling me I'm a fairy princess when I'm sad while wearing my tiara and dancing to Walk like An Egyptian, willing to feed me cheese, have a sick sense of humor, interested in playing hide n seek with cars (it's a real game, it's called Bond), and have nice hands. I have a slight fetish. It would also be neat if we had similar and/or the exact same taste in music.

Okay, just kidding about the fairy princess part.

You just have to be slightly twisted, okay? Is that so much to ask??

I always try to be myself (okay sometimes I tone it down. If I were to act as insane as I truly am, up front...I'd end up with the next Charles Manson. Hmmm...😉) because the right person will probably be just as nuts as I am.

Physically I like a good looking man. I'm not really drawn by race, or hair colour or eye colour and have dated many men that have looked very different. I'm a total sucker for a guy with blue, green or grey eyes. I don't generally find blondes or red heads attractive in men. I like a chiselled jawline and some cheekbones that can cut steel. I like a good body. Oh and if you're a guy that has none of those things but an amazing smile with amazing white perfect teeth then I'm yours.

I place a lot of importance on looks, it's the first impression that counts with me and I don't believe in all this 'sexiness comes from the inside' bullshit 😛 Gimme a slamming body and colgate smile FIRST and then we'll see what the personality is like please!! Haha.

I'm attracted to so many things it's not even funny anymore because if you have just one of these criteria, I might be attracted to you (most of the times on boys but sometimes on girls too):

Physically (those criteria are much less important, but they really don't hurt the attraction):
- curly/wild hair
- ginger hair
- tall
- nice eyebrows
- cheekbones *.*
- muscular
- a bit chubby (teddy bear like)
- lovely smile
- dimples

Not physically:
- awkwardness
- charism
- wit
- humour
- opinionated
- intelligent
- kind
- laid back
- chill
- honest
- tolerant
- interesting
- mutual interests can be great too

And yada yada yada. Those are really qualities I've been attracted to at some point of my life. Mr Perfect would probably have all of these qualities, but really, I'm attracted to a lot of things (so if you ask me "which boys do you find attractive", the list might be extremely long.)

(oh boy, the guy I really have the biggest crush on has a score of 14 out of 22 criterias).

Dimples are the cutest :D
I don't really want a lifelong partner, that's a bit much for me. I grow tired of people fairly easily. Don't want to get married or anything like that.

But in terms of a normal relationship then someone who is intelligent, has a dry sense of humour and who is passionate about something (doesn't matter what it is as that gives scope for learning new things).

Apart from a tall man with blue eyes, I'm not really fussed on looks. It's more about the personality and what they are like for me. My ex's and my current bf have nothing in common with each other at all so I don't have a "type" really. Also what I look for in a man is different now. I think what you look for changes with time and experience. What I like, well that list is long but near the top is a gsoh and romantic.

What I accentuate I suppose is my top half!!! I have to make the most of what I have as I am a larger lady (and that is me being polite about myself) so am really aware of my shape. I wear little make-up only really if I'm going out or my man is coming over.

For me deal breakers are certain life choices and/or habits. Like drug taking or excessive drinking/gambling etc.

In a lifetime relationship, the most important thing to me is to be with somebody who I can talk to about anything, and know that anything I say stays between us, and know judgement is passed.

Even if I completely connect with someone on a personal level, and we can talk about stuff and have great conversations, if I cant talk about things that really mean something, it couldn't be a lifetime relationship in my mind.

Ofc there needs to be a personal and physical attraction somewhere, but an emotional one is most important for someone I will spend my life with.

Totally agree!
Someone who doesn't play games... I can't stand that crap. I want someone who's independent, I'm very independent, I'm also very fond of my 'me-time' so I can't be with someone who's not similar or worse - someone possessive.

Basically what I want is someone who can carry on a conversation, someone who can be reall goofy and silly at times (I'm a dork and wee bit nutty so I like that in a man/girl as well) i.e someone who makes you laugh, someone who is mature enough to be upfront about their feelings, someone who is independent and doesn't need to be in a relationship and most importantly - someone I can be myself with and relax.

Looks? Hm... I think that's difficult, I mean I guess I have a type but at the end of the day it's all about chemistry. Even if I may have an 'image' of what I like it doesn't always coincide with what happens when you meet someone 🙂 (although that said I suppose I have a 'type' most of my ex's look kind of like Rob Zombie)

Yeah the me-time is so important, I couldn't be with someone who doesn't understand I need it!
Someone who is adventurous, enjoys surprises and isn't afraid to break away from routine. Having a Buffy obsession couldn't hurt either. 😎

I'm single and not looking. Or at least not trying. If it happens it happens. If the inner beauty/attraction/sexiness thing is crap then I'm screwed anyway. You won't fall for me at first sight. Unless I get a whole of a lot more confident. 😉

To make a long term relationship to work you need someone that can live with your bad sides. We all have them and no matter how good some other things might be it won't last forever if you can't stand the bad things about your partner. It obviously go for both involved.

So my dream partner accepts me as I am but at the same time being supportive of possible changes. Someone that bring out my better sides. Not something that's easily done. Hard work will be needed.

Honesty and humour are important to me. Everyone got humour but it needs to fit with mine. Not a deal breaker but I wouldn't mind someone that love to cook because that's not something I'm good at.

Heh, everyone's attracted to self confidence....how come no one's attracted to insecurity? ;-)

I've been thinking more about this. I think the number one trait I'm drawn toward is courage. Nothing is more sexy to me than bravery.

Heh, everyone's attracted to self confidence....how come no one's attracted to insecurity? ;-)

I've thought about that a lot. I think when you are younger, you are drawn to people like you, or who you can identify with. In that respect, you can share your pain/insecurity. But I've found that the older I get the less that appeals to me. I have enough in my own issues and trying to struggle through them, the thought of having to deal with someone elses' is exhausting to me.

It works both ways though, I know that I would be useless to someone in a relationship if I didn't have myself together. I wouldn't even want to put someone through it.

you gets me, woman.
See, I had all these ideas about must-have qualities in a potential SO (especially after my last relationship ended), but then I ended up in a relationship with the least likely of all possible choices (again) and it's going so well it's scaring me a little sometimes.

I suppose what I usually go for is intelligence, humour, confidence and a certain geekiness. They don't need to share my political views (they are a little bit muddled and don't really fit into one single category anyway), but I could never be with someone who doesn't share my beliefs in gender equality. They don't need to have my degree of abhorrence of gender stereotyping, but if they buy into that whole "Men are from Mars..." codswallop, then that's a definite no-no.

Lookswise I honestly don't know what my type is anymore. I'm not really swayed by full-on hunkiness anymore, and I tend to go for rather subtle good looks that work their way under your skin. A friendly face with a nice smile is good enough for me I suppose, given the personality is a match. Although I guess I still like meself a tall fella... 😀
