You could plant some in the hot houses at the botanical gardens? Sometimes I go there in the winter for a heat.

Im still layed up in bed from catching an Aldi snotvirus. Its hard to tell if the buckets of sweat are fever or just the air.

There are some spectacular pictures of the floodwaters, people have drones up. Its not been as bad as previous storms as the wind never hit with it.

I cant figure out how to share them from the tablet so will come back with the laptop when well enough.

People are having a blast in the waters, friends in dumbleyung say the lake is full and tourists are rolling in.

I will have to disagree with both of you.
That place near the border, where English people would run-away to, too get married. A full crop of Banana trees can be planted there and the angle of slope up the hills there make it an ideal place for the Banana trees to re-produce up the slope. Now, admittedly the Banana trees will all die, but you can plant them there.

Reminds me of a couple of years back when there was flooding in my town. The guy a couple streets over from me got out his canoe and started paddling down the street. As you do.

No dingoes in any other country, they've been in Australia a few thousand years but science suggests that they were introduced to Australia from South Asia and evolved to adapt to the more harsh dry climate of Australia (if my high school memory is correct) These days they're a pest for farmers and dingo hybrids can be pets (a neighbour had a part dingo/red heeler dog. Was such a cutie)

Ok I am up on my feet and ready to share the flooding photos, which is the total opposite of what this thread was actually about...

Before I do - can anyone give me a comparison in regards to humidity, when I checked my ithing on the grossest days, the humidity was between 61 -67 % temp at about 30C, that was gross and unbearable had it gone on longer. Does anyone live like that regularly? (excluding QLD cos we all know they are a little 'different').

When I was in England and we had the heatwave of 30 degrees, that was a killer. The humidity there was awful. Much worse than what I experienced in Sydney with the storms during summer

I went to school down there with kids from all over the state, I've hopefully credited the photos ok. I'll be moving back to the great southern region in less than a month. Currently in the city (perth inner suburbs) but happy to have this mass air con unit and no power outages haha.

I had wondered about England and Europe in particular, muggy is gross.

lovely piccys though somewhat odd. There is a picky of water cascading over wave rock. It is known as where the giants would roll their own tobacco.

Yeah the Wave rock picture is unreal! I had only ever seen dated pictures of water there, never visited myself, not sure why, as its not too far is it? I love the stories and twists on dreamtime, I wish i could remember more. I am sure there are water stories of the floods and how they shaped the land, plenty of snake / serpent too hehe - care to share any you know?

The sun is getting hotter. I've been monitoring solar flare activity, and things have become...interesting. In fact, on the 15th NASA is predicting a rather active phase.

Solar flares will do more damage in the short term once they knock out our communications and power supplies, lol. Something to look forward to.

Australia looks beautiful but no way could I live there! 25c is about my limit for heat.

Ok, now I know the world has gone crazy.......An Australian complaining about it being too hot in England..... 😕😱😉

Seriously though, that kind of weather doesn't happen very often in good old blighty, & when it does it normally only lasts for a few days (Except for the summer of 1976....that was just bonkers!!!).

I have a MASSIVE supply of batteries, just in case of any emergency. As long as I have a cd player, lanterns, water, snacks and ciggies, I'm good. I'm always prepared for 'disasters' and become quite annoyed when nothing happens. lol

Noooo...I can't deal with heat either. Cold yes, heat, never.

I saw three tennis balls on the lawn of brown grass, I noticed that each one of them was wet.
Then I realized they were wet from perspiration, obviously they were female tennis balls because if they had been male tennis balls it would have been sweat. Yep vellavu, it sure is hot as balls here
