In the vein of my other brilliant thread pointing out the insanity of otherwise mundane mothers magazines here in 'Great' Britain, here are some of the absurd stories you can see on the cover of these awful magazines designed for the braindead. Remember, people take these seriously..

I expect this is something to do with Angela from The Office.

That's more commonly known as 'blinking', bitca.

Again, this is an actual publication. People believe the content.

Finally, I'm saving the best for last... this one is amazing.

What the balls?! See, this is why I don't read that kinda magazine. These look really absurd and kinda disrespectful to the people they concern. But then again, if I had those problems I wouldn't dare go to a magazine with it. So maybe it's what they're after. I dunno, no offense to anyone who likes these but I just don't see the appeal, personally!

I got a laugh outta some of them though :') Thanks for posting!

These remind me of some magazines that we have here in the US. National Enquirer anyone? lol Such bs stories. I read one about Steve Jobs being on his death bed and having only 3 days to live. That was a month before they announced the iPad2 lol. There are some pretty ridiculous stories in that magazine, and the sad part is, people actually buy them, and believe all the stories. I wonder how much the journalists get paid for these.

I don't know, sometimes, with all the bad news, I'd rather read stuff like this. Not another "3 killed in a car accident", "18 year old girl was raped by a minister", etc. Sometimes BS is better to read.

Tabloid magazines are such horrible, horrible journalism. My grandma used to get the National Enquirer all the time and even at 10 years old I knew it was all fake. LOL

Those magazines are hilarious, I find myself reading them in the hairdressers sometimes out of morbid curiosity...

There was a fun BtVS challenge community on LJ based on creating fanworks using headlines from The Weekly World News. Tabloid BtVS.

LOL are those real? I mean they can't really be in stores right? These are the kind of things that are sent in those text message chain things.

I tend to work on the basis that those kinds of stories are about 75% fiction and 25% people with rare medical conditions who could use whatever money they get from selling their story. It's basically one step up from the circus.
