Alright, here's the sitch.

I have an old HTC Hero that about a half a year ago I swapped out for a shiny new HTC Thunderbolt. (Woo Android!) I was bored the other day and booted up the Hero, which had stopped responding to any touch and kept flashing a "android.process has stopped working" message. Woops!

Anyway, I noticed that I still have 18 unread messages on the damn thing and, well, I have nothing else exciting enough happening in my life to make them seem unimportant. In other words, I am curious. Incredibly so.

I could just access the messages app using the physical buttons on the phone but I had set up a security pattern thing that can't be completed without a finger. That's not an option.

Mine always says that with the "android.process has stopped working" p****s me off so much!!

Could you not switch your sim card? Or are your messages just saved to your phone?

In that case, with mine, I could always use a USB cable and upload them to my PC, which is where I store my favourite ones.

To be totally honest I'm not sure where the SIM card is on the Hero...I swapped SD cards but that was result-free.

Walk me through the process of uploading the messages, please?

I'm not sure I can, it differs from phone to phone. When I got my phone, it had a programme called "PC Suite", do you have that?

This sounds really lame. Keep in mind that the phone in question hasn't actually worked for like 6 months...

It's an old programme though. That's why I suggested it! If you could tell me what happens on screen when you attach a USB I might be more help!
