When you're little, you can't always say those big words. So you try your best, or make replacements. And sometimes they get adapted into your adult vocabulary. Anyone have any like that?

For me, it's Gaga and Aicundoo. "Gaga" is my family's word for pacifier. Long story why. And Aicundoo is what both me and my brother used to say before we could say "air conditioner."

None that I said as a kid... but I use baby talk to my cats all the time so it's not uncommon for me to walk in the house and yell "I WUV YOU!!!!!!!" And stuff like that.

I use to say "poupoun" to say various things such as "nothing", "do you think I'm an idiot?", "your loss","go to hell". Well that's the meanings it had, even tough I didn't mean to say "go to hell" :tongue3:

I was so embarassed the time my ex-almost-boyfriend told me he had seen my mum and she managed to say "something like...Pupoul?" "Oh god, poupoun???" "Yeah, that, what does that mean?" "Oh, it's just kid gibberish!".
When I saw my mum later I said "Really, poupoun? You said poupoun to my almost-boyfriend?" and she was about as embarassed as I was (even tough she can't be possibly as ashamed as I was).

I don't think you can really call it baby talk, but when I was little, I used to mispronounce the word Gross and say gahrose. So it has stuck with me forever 😛

I've never used "baby talk" with my son cause for a grown woman to call something "baba" or "wawa" is just annoying. But he says certain words funny. Like he calls dessert "toosert," and yellow "lellow," and her calls my sister "nene" instead of courtney. He says lots of funny things.

Sadly a couple I know speak in baby talk a lot. It's nice that they "we'ry we'ry wuv" each other, but it we'ry makes me want to womit.

I can't think of anything I used to say, but my sister used to call "fingers" "thingers" which I think is highly amusing. 🙂

My friend, the one that actually got me watching Btvs, she talks in baby talk to her boyfriend it's soooo obnoxiously hilarious. They even text each other with baby talk.

It's alot of "wittle" instead of "little"
"wuv" not "love"
"hungwy" not "hungry"

That's how I talk to my cats
I don't baby talk my person. That's weird.

I used to say "pitcher" instead of "picture". That drove one of my exes crazy, and while we were together, that stopped. I learned to say picture. And I used to call my twin Doey instead of Joey. James was Damie. I had a slight speech impediment on R's. Luckily, my babysitter's husband was an opera teacher, and he helped me get over that, and my slight southern accent. Still not sure where that came from... I used to say pasketti instead of spaghetti, but I don't think there's anything I still say...

Only to the dogs. But I don't say 'wuv you' or something. But I'm not only one who does it. My dad & stepmom do it too.

Nothing for me. But my son used to say he was "full of hands" when he meant that he had his hands full, so my husband and I still use that phrase with each other.

No, I don't think I have anything I say like that...

And when I have kids, I'm going to make sure I teach them the right way to say things so stuff like saying it in the future doesn't happen. I mean, it may be cute at the time, but when they get older it will be embaressing for them. I learned about a thng called "Parentese" or "Motherese" it's like where you talk in a soft voice, a baby voice, but you don't say "wuv" you say "love" it's a whole lot better for the baby to learn that way.

Sorry for my rant, but I have strong feelings against that kind of "baby talk".

I forgot some that my son still says.

He learned about presidents at school last week, and apparently abraham lincoln is really hard to pronounce when you are 4. He is now Harbraman lincoln.

Batman also drives a batmanbile, not a batmobile. Lol its too cute. I try to correct him most of the time, but sometimes you gotta just let them say it wrong.

I don't remember this, but my mom told me that when I was in kindergarten, I used to curse the other kids in foreign languages so they wouldn't understand what I'm saying.

that's brilliant lol
I have a 3-year-old in our house, so we still hear a lot of baby talk in our house. She can't say her l's correctly, so anything with an l becomes something with a w instead.
