From Nick Brendon's FB earlier today;

Earlier today, with the support of his professional team, his friends, and his family, Nicky entered a rehabilitation facility in California to treat his depression, alcoholism, and substance abuse problems. He’s taking the steps necessary to better his health and give himself, and his fans, the gift of a healthy lifestyle.

He has been aware of his problems for some time- and with each new challenge, he gained a greater understanding of what needed to be done to overcome these obstacles and move forward with his life. Since his arrest last October, Nicky had tried several treatment methods- from therapy, to outpatient services- only to realize recently that he needed to take an extended break and treat the underlying issues of his illnesses.

Nicky will not be attending any events during the months of June and July- but has plans to return to the circuit in late summer after he has successfully completed his treatment program. We ask that this page be filled with positive messages as we support Nicky on his road to recovery. Words of encouragement can be emailed to us at publicity@bloodybombshell.com so that we may forward them to him during his time away.

It takes a strong person to make this choice - I hope that strength sees him through a difficult process.
 
Good for him! I really hope he can get it together and get better. I wish him the best on his way to recovery!
 
It was the only sensible decision for him at this time, and needed to be done sooner rather than later. Hopefully this is a big step on him getting his life back on track. Good luck to him.
 
I'm so pleased that he is doing something about it. I'm keeping him in my thoughts.

Did someone end up sending through our words of support from that other thread?
 
I do hope this works for him and that he takes as much time away to deal with his problems as he can as personally I suspect that just two months away from the con circuit won't be long enough.

I was thinking that as well, that two months seemed like an awfully short time. I do hope he reconsiders and takes a proper rest away from all distractions from his rehabilitation.
 
One day he'll get better, people always have that chance to get better if they stay around long enough for it to happen. I have the upmost confidence he will do brilliantly and he will have all of us, his friends and his family being there for him and helping him through this hard time.
 
I did think two months seemed a bit short too. Maybe he is just setting himself that target but is willing to adapt if he needs longer, lets hope so anyway.

Probably not, but it's a bit of an evil circle cause if you don't do the time so to speak he'll run a greater risk to end right back up here, won't he?

Undoubtedly .. but I do think he stands a better chance this time.. I have my own reasons for thinking this but opt not to share publicly.
Good for him! I'm really glad to hear this. You can tell he's working hard trying to overcome his problems.

I suspect it's two months in facility and then out-patient care from then on. Two months is a short time before going back to work, but sadly money doesn't go on trees 🙁 I went through something similar last year where I got really, really sick (physically, and then mentally because of the physical illness), and I was stuck working the whole time. It sucked, but I have faith that he can make it work!
 
The guy needs to put his mental health and well being above all other considerations. I'm sure his fans will understand and wish him all the best.

Hope to see a happier, healthier Nicky later on in the summer. 🙂
 
In a perfect world we would all be able to take off ample time to get through problems, whether they be mental health or physical health or a combination of the two.

Two months is far longer off work than a lot of people can afford.

But I think anyone with this sort of problem celebrity or otherwise would be entitled to take at least a couple of months to get sorted it. I don't think money comes into it as long as someone is paying for the rehab then the rest can take care of itself.

You don't think money comes into it? If I don't work, I don't get paid. Like many people. How would you afford to pay rent or bills?

Yeah and if you don't get your life straight you won't be in a position to make money in the future. Besides most bills are paid automatic through the bank nowadays pretty sure there is a system to have you ticking along for two months at least.

I wish it were that easy. Assuming you are "healthy" enough to not get fired first, the world doesn't give a dam if you are depressed of going through some mental issues. No money in the bank, no way to pay the bills. It really sucks, but that's how a lot of places work. Even when I was physically sick (with mono, pneumonia and and ear infection that left me enable to walk in a straight line), I ran out of sick days after a week and had to push myself to go back to work. With the stigma surrounding mental health, it's even harder to get time off work.

They are only paid automatic if you have the money... standard drug treatment facilities cost between $10,000 and $20,000 per month. once you pay for rehab and have no income for two months, the bills dont automatically get paid. Alot of people live paycheck to paycheck and I highly doubt he would be any different. Honestly.
