Bad experiences

Last night, after a nice evening at a gig with some friends I hadn't seen in a while, we got nattering about Edinburgh. The conversation went thus:

Friend A: So how was Edinburgh?
Me: Brilliant. Weather was good the whole time I was there.
Drunken Scottish Stranger A: I'm a Rangers Fan.

AHAHAHAHAHA

I would have responded with "yeah, me too". Well not me specifically, me if I were you. In the past my response to such a "conversation" opener is "I'm a Celtic fan, want to make something of it?":biggrin:

Actually a couple of months ago a friends dad was stabbed in the neck because he thought in his drunken state that supporting Celtic meant you had to insult the rangers fans he was drinking with.

Bad enough trying to start a fight in a peaceful little pub without annoying the crap out of people with politics too. Rrr. Maybe we should start opening up designated fightin' pubs, so they can leave the rest of us to it?
