Trivia:
- Giles' first entry into his Watcher's Diary included the comments: "Slayer is willful and insolent...her abuse of the English language is such that I understand only every other sentence."
- The warehouse featured in this episode is on a street named Devereau.
- Another store downtown is Meyer Sport & Tackle.
- Joyce is on a diet.
- Willow refers to herself as a Wicca for the first time (as opposed to a witch). We are not yet sure where they are going with this; since Wicca is often considered a religion, is Willow not considering herself Jewish anymore? Or does she consider herself both? Or is she just using the term loosely, as a synonym for witch?
- At the end of the episode, when Buffy goes to talk to Faith, she was supposed to have discovered Faith dead, having hung herself, this was planned until they decided to further Faith's character on the show.
- An early draft of this episode gave Willow's middle name as Danielle.
- The song playing during Faith and Buffy's dance at the Bronze is also the song playing during the opening sequence of the Season 3 DVDs.
- Alyson Hannigan first met future-husband Alexis Denisof on the set of this episode. While Alyson was immediately attracted to Alexis and asked him out, he declined saying that he didn't date coworkers. The two remained friends for over a year before they started dating. They married in September 2003.
Goofs:
- In the first scene, when Buffy and Faith are fighting vamps in the cemetery, there is a big mound of dirt. We could not spot any open graves nearby, or any other obvious reason why this would be there.
- When telling Wesley about the three vampires she and Faith killed in the first fight scene, Buffy says, "One of them had swords. I don't think he was with the other two." All three of the vampires were dressed in the same Eliminati uniform, so why would she think they weren't together?
- The stunt double's face is seen close up during a fight scene between Buffy and some vampires.
- When Buffy and Faith kick in the blinded window, you see a vampire on the floor with his legs in the sunlight. However, his arm, which is in the shade, catches fire.
Continuity:
- This episode is the major turning point of season three. Faith has been a loose cannon with issues of trust, and she enjoys slaying a little too much, but she has been fighting for the right cause. She will not for much longer. The Mayor's plan becomes clearer, and Wesley has arrived and will bug the Scoobies until the end.
- When stealing from the sports supply store, Buffy ponders if they are insured. She later uses this reasoning in Season 8 when she robs banks to fund their operation.
- Willow gives Buffy the protection spell she has been working on since "Gingerbread" in a lavender-scented pouch.
- This episode marks the first appearance of Wesley Wyndam-Pryce who goes on to become a prominent member of Angel Investigations in L.A.
- When Buffy is attacked by the vampire while in the graveyard, Faith stakes it from behind. She will do this again in Season 4's episode Who Are You, but Buffy was in Faith's body at the time.
- The Zeppo "” Faith asks Buffy if she has ever had sex with Xander, since they spend so many sweaty nights working side by side. Her curiosity is obviously sparked by the fact that she had sex with Xander last week.
- Revelations "” Buffy asks Giles about Wesley, "Is he evil?...The last one was evil." This is a reference to Gwendolyn Post, who posed as Faith's watcher. Wesley says that he heard about that incident.
