Bale's Batman Beat Sarah's Buffy

#8 Batman vs. #9 Buffy, Bruce Wayne, Buffy Summers, Batman Begins, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Christian Bale, Sarah Michelle Gellar

He’s the Dark Knight of Gotham City and the scourge of the criminal underworld; she’s the Slayer, and after all the vampires she’s killed in her time, what’s another bat? Given what’s at stake, will Buffy defeat her opponent with a few swift kicks and a sudden stab, or can Batman swing into the battle and pull a victory out of his utility belt?

Do you agree that Bale's Batman pulls out the win?

Personally, I think Buffy would take down early!Batman, but Batman in his prime (Timmverse JLU-era) while weaker and slower than Buffy, would take her down in a fight on skill.

We're talking one and one and no Scoobies (I don't know who the Batman supporting characters are nowadays)? I'd give it to Batman just based on the fact that he's far crazier than she is. Also he's got the suit which could stop a lot of the weapons she'd come at him with, I think.

She absolutely has weaknesses but compared to Batman's, I think she'd take him.

With Batman's high tech, armored uniform and array of gadgets, plus his expertise in ancient martial arts at their most pure, undiluted form, sorry, folks, but Buffy just ain't got a chance. She might overcome the martial artist, and she MIGHT figure out some way around the gadgets and weapons, but the combination of the two would just be too much for her. If she had help, maybe, Faith or Spike, for example, they might be able to launch a coordinated attack, keep Batman off balance long enough to catch an opening, and take him out that way, but one on one, unless Buffy breaks out the rocket launcher, she just can't do it.

Batman ftw for me too. B'man has taken out Killer Croc & Bane, both of whom are physically stronger than Buffy. He's also beaten many opponents such as Joker, Riddler & Scarecrow who are (imo) more cunning than Buffy. In reality though, I'm with Zal, it really depends whose writing it 🙂

If it's just Bale's version, yeah Buffy would kick his ass. Bale's version is pretty tame. Avoid getting ran down by the batmobile and she's good to go. 🙂 The comic version, Buffy wouldn't stand a chance.

So you think even Bale's Batman would do S7 Buffy in?

I'm on the fence with DK BaleBat vs. Buffy. BB BaleBat vs. Buffy S7 I'd go Buffy hands down, because there, I'd say his hand-to-hand skill was just on par with Buff, but obviously he doesn't have her speed or strength. The biggest thing is, nothing BB Bat does leads me to believe that he's any smarter than Buffy...

When we get to DK, I'd say his fighting skill has surpassed Buffy's as well as his on screen intellect. But he's still handicapped by the fact that no level of training will make him as strong or as fast as a supernatural being like a Slayer...

Anything Batman can do I think she can do better.

She uses axes, crossbows (The Master complimented her, perfect aim after one afternoon of practice), guns (took only one bullet to shoot off the lock on the Ragna cage), a rocket launcher, swords (better than Angelus), a hunga munga (that weapon from Anne), a bastinada, stakes, and an assortment of other weaponry. She can jump high distances and over fences with grace and jumps out of helicopters and from rooftops to rooftops and scale down elevator shafts. She can bend metal and lift hundreds of pounds with ease. She has the stamina of ten men and can heal extremely quickly from injuries. She has prophetic dreams/visions and her "Spidey sense" to warn her of enemies.

"Slayers don't need guns." She wouldn't be taking one from him and she wouldn't be carrying one. His armor would probably protect from a crossbow or a stake. I don't know about an axe.

While not naturally, he can do all of that. Well, it doesn't take supernatural powers to scale elevator shafts (Xander, Willow, and Giles have done it) and it doesn't take that to jump of out aircraft.

And whatever she has to warn her of enemies is only a little like spider-sense.

First I'll agree with what was previously stated; depends who's writing.

With my limited knowledge of Batman I'm not exactly the authority but I tend to believe Batman wouldn't have a hope. Buffy herself is very cunning and resourceful, stronger, and faster. Equip her with the scythe as well and I'm not sure how Batman wins this one.

It's true that Buffy doesn't like guns but I think if push came to shove she would use one if she didn't see an alternative. She has used bombs/explosives and a rocket launcher. She has chopped off a human's arm and tricked two snipers into killing each other and axed a human in the chest. I'm still not sure if a panel in TLWH was showing Buffy snapping a soldier's neck with her thighs or just using him as an unwilling boost while she took out the guys around him. In Band Candy she took the gun from Giles and put it in the back of her pants. In Wild At Heart she almost accidentally switched weapons with a soldier.

But the Timmverse Batman during the JL(U) era has her beat in every department except for physical strength. He regularly faced off against "gods" who tossed around cars like they were nothing...

They forgot accelerated healing powers and superhuman strength unders Buffy's strengths. Plus, she's got the Scoobies to help her. Batman's basically a loner accept for Alfred. It's true batman seems badass because he's all dark, angry and gothamy. Buffy is most of the time the opposite and likes having as much of a normal life as possible. B's just as smart and kick-ass with a lot of saving the world under her belt. Are people again underestimating the power of a female bad ass?!

High tech weapons can do nothing against the Slayer's strength IMO. If Buffy laid her hands on Batman she would sweep the floor with him. Batman is strong yes, he has many weapons but Buffy can defeat an enemy with no weapons at all.
