Trivia:

- The accent used by Anthony Head for Young Giles is his own.

- The exercise Angel is doing in the courtyard of the mansion when Buffy comes to see him is T'ai Chi Ch'uan, a Chinese martial art which is also used as a form of Taoist yoga.

- Ethan Rayne returns for the first time since "The Dark Age."

- Kristine Sutherland, has named "Band Candy" as one of her favorite Buffy episodes, along with "Ted", "When She Was Bad" and "Innocence".

- The Cream song "Tales of Brave Ulysses" later reappeared in the season five episode "Forever", where Giles listens to the record after Joyce's funeral, in remembrance of the events of this episode .

- Buffy quotes 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' by saying "Lets do the Time Warp again." when she and Willow walk into the Bronze. Anthony Head actually starred in a production of The Rocky Horror Show.

- Willow and Xander continue their dangerous liaison.

- The Mayor once more shows his character, while Snyder proves to be an ignorant participant in his evil schemes.

- The glaring implication at the end that Giles and Joyce went further than kisses is confirmed in "Earshot".

- The Demon Lurconis is very similar to the demon the Mayor transforms into at the end of the season.

Goofs:

- Why did all the spell-affected adults, regardless of their age, speak and act as though their teenage years were spent during the 1970's?

- Just before Buffy's auto accident, the camera cranes down from an overhead traffic light to show her car approaching the intersection that the light controls. However, painted on the street below are the standard "Stop" markings for an intersection controlled by stop signs. Obviously, the traffic light is a prop and does not belong there.

Best quotes:

- Cordelia: Mom started borrowing my clothes. There should be an age limit on Lycra pants. And Dad, he just locked himself in the bathroom with old copies of Esquire.

- Willow: Kiss Rocks? Why would anyone want to kiss... Oh wait, I get it.

- Principal Snyder: You will sell it to raise money for the marching band. They need new uniforms.
Xander: Yeah, those tall, fuzzy hats ain't cheap, huh?
Oz: But they go with everything.

- Xander Harris: I don't get this. The candy's supposed to make you feel all immature and stuff, but I've had a ton and I don't feel any diff- never mind.

- Principal Snyder: Summers, you drive like a spaz!

Body Count:

- Candy Bar Packager, Larconis, 4 Vampires.

Mad Cow

In the midst of all of the sadness about Joyce in "The Body" and "Forever", this tiny little moment is one of the sweetest and most dignified moments on the show. I love it.

I agree... I thought it was a deeply touching tribute that Giles thought of Joyce and (maybe) what might have been...

If anyone's interested here's the vid of Anthony in the Rocky Horror Production and Amber Benson is in it also.
