Bands on the show

Well I know there are many bands on Buffy and I just wanted to know how many of the bands on the show are real bands. I know in season 4, the band Bif Naked is in an episode and well they're real. Any others?

Most of the bands which appear on Buffy have been real. Usually, the only time they are fake bands are when they fit into the storyline, eg. Oz's band 'Dingoe's Ate my Baby' and Veruca's band 'Shy'. However, the sons which both 'Dingoes Ate my Baby' and 'Shy' play are from real bands.
The band who provides the music for 'Dingoe's Ate my Baby' is called 'Four Star Mary'. And the band who provided the music for 'Shy' is called 'THC'.

Let us not forget Michelle Branch and her heartbreaking song "Goodbye to You" which fit so well with the Season 6 episode "Tabula Rasa."

Of course, there is also the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Album which has eighteen tracks, sixteen of which are songs by bands which all appeared at some point (not necessarily on screen) during the first four seasons.
