I absolutely love this one. It's completely AU and it is B/A but it's a gem to me because it's written from Buffy's POV and absolutely hysterical. Seriously I laughed so hard and much from this that I got cramps and my sides hurt the next day. Whenever I need to be reminded how fun Buffy could be (compared to the drag of later Seasons) this fic does it because it could so be early Seasons Buffy (and it kinda is). I'm still sad that it's on TBC and not finished.

It is great I laughed the entire time! Such a bummer it's not completed.
Calling my fic gurus: @NileQT87 and @Grace - I'm trying to remember a fic that I read a while ago, it had Connor, Faith and Buffy going to hell to save Angel post NFA. I remember there was a like a big demon battle/stand off at some point and they had to fight their way out of there. I can't remember much else but let me know if you have any clue what I'm talking about 🙂

One thing I remember about this one is that when they escape hell, there's a glamour in place to make Wolfram & Hart think they're still down there.

Just say the word! I have so many ideas I'm just not all that strong a writer. Specifically taking into account your avatar, I love the idea of Buffy and Lorne together and I think it's so much fun when fics show them interacting !
OMG!! That would be awesome to have Lorne and Buffy together! I could see him getting irritated at Buffy with a seabreeze in his hand lol.

I think you're underselling yourself! 🙂 Do you have any favorite fics with Buffy and Lorne interacting? I enjoy it, too. The first that springs to mind for me is my beloved The Slayer and His Vampire by @Taaroko. (I begged her several months ago to consider writing the "Angel" equivalent chapters for IWRY this year, but I fear she has moved on from this story entirely. Siiiiigh. I can't hold it against her, though, as she has given me so many hours of enjoyment for free.)

You know me and fic names! But I remember one where Angel and gang come over to Buffy's house to help with the first circa late Season 7 and Buffy and him are sitting on her bed chatting about Angel and I remember they had a nice interaction there.
But I haven't read too many Lorne & Buffy interactions. I'll check out the fic you mentioned 🙂

Yeah, I'm really sorry about that. :/ I absolutely loved that fic, but I got massive writer's block when I realized that many of the obstacles Buffy faces in the early seasons don't really work when Angel is in her shoes. Hopefully it's some consolation that even if I'm not updating the fic anymore, it did spawn an idea for an original fiction series with an angry asocial warrior guy/good vampire chick romance at its core.

The reason I admire The Slayer and His Vampire so much is that undoing the gender-reversing female hero concept should feel like conventionalizing the story. But it actually felt really fresh and interesting.
Well, that, and the fact that I finally got the 18th century Buffy that "Halloween" cheated me out of. 🙂

You haven't ready many Lorne/Buffy interactions? That's weird. There are plenty fics where Buffy goes to L.A. or the Soobies and Fang Gang team up and Buffy and Lorne always at some point have an interaction. And those two always get along great. Plus Lorne with his powers can always see through the BS and impart some truth/wisdom on Buffy.
I feel like generally you are right I've read interactions with them in passing but none stick out in my mind besides that fic where they gave a heart to heart about Angel. It's more my memory sucks and less that they don't exist!
I accidentally started re-reading this one instead of just bookmarking it. Lol. The writer has Angel down so well it's amazing. I love her beautiful analogies e.g. comparing Angel to Atlas or Midas. I had forgotten what a wonderful story this one is. The writer also gives some great Post NFA Angel in Weight of the World.

I had that one in my favorites, but I think I forgot the specifics of that one's plot other than it being one of many post-NFA fics I've read.
I have been reading a lot more fics with Connor lately. Some with Buffy. I feel so cheated we never saw Buffy learning Angel had a son on screen or even on a comic page. Dark Horse made a gigantic "show, don't tell" fail. Everything that was important to fans, Joss acted like it was irrelevant. Sorry, but Buffy would have reacted to that, given how much Angel brought up his inability to have children as a reason they couldn't be together.
I've also found myself rather fond of all the fics where Angel outlives everybody. Some where he just has to get on with his unlife, some where he's watching over descendants and others that have time travel, resurrection or PtB-sent visitors from the past to help him.
I've been reading Bangel fanfic for well over a decade! That's scary. I have so many links in my fanfiction folder I have to use the Wayback Machine or some other archiver to access.

Agreed! I wonder how she would react. If she had found out back in AtS Season 3/ BtVS Season 6, I feel like she would have been pretty conflicted at first maybe even a bit jealous. But if she had found out post Season 7 I feel like she might have eased into feeling happy for him faster. That's my take on how she would react wonder what you think?

I just read today on the Buffyverse wiki for 'Chosen' that the original script had Angel telling Buffy about Connor and about loving/having loved Cordelia. But there's no citation for this so I have no idea where they've got it from (some stuff on there does tend to be speculative or just made up!)
Man that would have been quite the confusing and loaded speech.

Angel: I guess that means you are happy to see me. I have a kid. I fell in love with Cordelia. Why are you boinking Spike? Shoulder to shoulder i'm yours. (Even though I just told you I was in love with Cordelia?)
Buffy: What are you 12? I'm cookie dough.
Angel: Ever thought about who might enjoy cookies?
Buffy: Didn't you just say you loved Cordelia?
I call bull on that. I could see him telling her about Connor but to find a way to fit in a conversation about the complicated nature of the relationship with Cordelia (a relationship that never even got off the ground) I find it hard to believe that Joss would ever sign on to that. And then add to that the fact that I don't think Angel was in love with Cordelia but you know that is a conversation for a different day I suppose. 😉
This is going to drive me insane. BTW. I want to get a source for this! I'm going to make it a thread.
