Bangel in AU

With the Star-crossed, tragic nature of the Buffy/Angel relationship- so far. I've been wondering how many of my fellow Bangels have created their own Alternate Universe where Buffy & Angel finally get their happily ever after.

Also I'm wondering in what type of format did you use. i.e. Fanfiction, RPG, or other.

And at what point does your stories seperate from the TV series, or is it a completely different universe altogether.

Well, I haven't YET written it myself, but I'm planning on writing some Bangelific AU fanfiction...

And mine would be in a different universe altogether. 😀

I've never written anything, ok one fic but it was only a one shot and didn't really impinge on canon at all, but if I was going to write something it would more than likely start at Buffy S6 and Angel S3. Actually I'd cut out Angel S3 and send the Fang Gang to Sunnydale and carry on from their.

Personally - I 've gone with RPG.

I've originally attempted to go with the Canon Whedon'verse - but it was just too hard to do.

So I end up going with an Alternate Universe - in Which Dawn was Buffy's natural little sister, And the Gyspies were a bit more practical in their cursing of Angelus. In other words - if Angel experienced Angelus would be released as an Evil doppleganger version of Angel. And Angel would become basically a half Vampire.

In Forever -After Joyce's funeral - Angel is able to comfort Buffy(to point where they make love).

In the Gift - Buffy didn't die and go to heaven - after her battle with Glory - but instead end up in the Slayer Realm, where she give birth to Angel's daughter, and learn the ancient hidden secrets of the Slayers.

In early Season 6 - After nearly 5 months - Buffy returns, with their daughter (now appearing as grade school aged little girl), and with enhanced Slayer abilities.

Of course - naturally being an RPG is on going.

I was huge into Fanfiction for a couple years, and pretty much every story that I did was Bangel-Centric. Most of it was all one-shot stories (some were rewrites of a scene or two, some were Alternate Universe/Reality) but I did end up doing one full-length fic where they end up together. I tried to keep the characters basically the same as BtVS in all my stories other than their circumstances, whether I succeeded or not is of course up for question. :silly:

The RPG idea sounds really cool too, it's just not the type of thing I've ever been able to get interested in. I'm a die-hard fanfictionaholic now 😉

Well - the RPG setting isn't really good for doing one off pieces. But it's really good for doing more of a Seasonal or Big picture thing.

I have multiple alternate universes in my head. I visit different ones depending on my mood:
1. Angel stays human after IWRY, and they go on to have many beautiful children.
2. Angel doesn't stay human after IWRY, but Buffy gets pregnant from the encounter, forcing him to reveal what happened. The Oracles bind his soul (or something), and they live happily ever after. (There are many fanfics with this theme, and I'm kinda addicted to them.)
3. Angel shanshus, goes and finds Buffy immediately. They live happily ever after.
4. Angel and Buffy reunite - somewhere, anywhere - after NFA. Curse, of course, not a problem anymore. They live happily ever after.

I'm also still excited to see where Season 8 takes us, and I'm sure new universes will erupt once we see its conclusion.
