Bangel or Cangel?

aww so I guess it isn't a popularity contest after all.
haha 😉
Everyone knows what I say..Bangel of course. Bangel is true love, and Cangel was...not. I like Cordy and Angel as friends just not so much as lovers.

Funny, I think the exact opposite.

Buffy was an unfullfilled first love, a rite of passage from childhood to adulthood, but in angels case, a rite of passage to get redemption from his most feared enemy, the slayer.

The whole relationship between them was adolesant, and honestly it would have quickly fizzled out after the sex thing became less about passion, more about ittimancy. After all, what would they talk about - He broods his fate, so does she.

But with the lust unsatisfied (except once), the relationship never grew past the first stage.

Cordy was so much a stronger relationship, because it was not based on desire for redemption on angels part - but based on something much more - partnership, friendship, growth together and evolution. I would say the whole cordy thing was true love.

I Hate Bangel...to be honest i don't like Angel...he just bugs me soo much! So, i'm gonna have to go with Cangel...for the pure reason i hate Bangel. Go Spuffy 😀

Bangelxx
thanks! your sig is awesome too! :D
he loved them both. in different ways. i can't pick one over the other because they were so different and equally important.

I think he loved them in different ways so i guess both but personally i loved cangel 🙂

This discussion perfectly illustrates why poor Angel is always the bridesmaid but never the bride. He loved Buffy, and then got replaced his vampire grandson. He loved Cordelia, and got replaced by his biological son. I won't even comment about Xander. Now he must be living in constant dread that Drusilla is going to show up and take Nina away from him. Poor pulse-less cold blooded guy!

^^LOL!

Buffy. If I go into my reasons I will only show myself for the hopeless romantic that I am 😀

Bah to Cangel!

BillyIdolWannaB agrees: Spike and... Snyder?

lol. No, After the Fall Spike started dating a girl with retractable Spider Arms. Her real name is Maria, and she seems to care deeply about Spike and can handle herself in a fight very well. Spike's taking a break from her right now because he saw a vision of the future where he decapitates her with Buffy's Slayer Scythe, also she tried to get Spike to kill Angel...

haha, reading this, i was like, my god i need to get into the comics
I thought Bangel was true love. However, I believe that Cangel was more about mutual trust, respect and support than it was about love

Well said, I agree. While I prefer Bangel, I don't think Buffy ever trusted Angel. I mean, she actually told him that she didn't trust him pretty often...

Think some people here are a bit too down on love and romance. Just because Buffy was young doesn't mean it wouldn't work. No doubt many teens have relationships that fail but I know several of my friends's parents who got married in their teens and are still married to this day.

If you want to say "well hey! Angel is like hundreds of years old so it's different", you couldn't be more wrong. Despite his age, Angel acts like any other man in relationships. His many years have not given him some greater insight into dating. Probably because he spent most of that time killing babies and later eating rat as opposed to honing his dating skills.

Bangel was beautiful, tragic and perfect. It could never work, that's true. But that doesn't mean they didn't love each other. Angel loving Cordy wa aa horrible plot device that really made no sense and was one of the more bland and forgettable parts of Angel. In fact, so was Cordelia's whole character on the show now I think about it.

Um, I strongly prefer Bangel, and even I strongly disagree with this. In Los Angeles, there were a total of two people that were completely loyal to Angel--Doyle and Cordy. Doyle died, Cordy was his best friend, they worked closely to each other, trusted each other, and saved each others' lives. Their relationship made plenty of sense.

Remember, Angel stated that he knew both Wes and Gunn were willing to betray him and didn't trust him, and he was never as close with Fred as he was with Cordy. Given the limited number of people in his world (Champions), Cordy was one of maybe four people who Angel could have a relationship with.

That said, I think it was pretty obvious that Buffy & Angel loved each other more than anyone else (romantically speaking).

I can't agree with this, because as I said before

Cangel was more about mutual trust, respect and support
