Bangel Is Eternal
Have to agree on Sarah being great but you can't ignore David's role as well. It might seem like a small thing but when he says Buffy for the last time it really hits me emotionally aswell. That might just be me but i think David plays the role superbly when Angelius changes back to Angel. Sarah's tears and the whole close your eyes bit, just magical stuff and if that doesn't get you, well the music certaintly does. That's another feature of Bangel, that song will forever be associated with them.

I don't know. For me, David's getting back to Angel wasn't so great, but Angelus, he was so good 😀

I'm not saying it was bad, I just don't think it was anything special. Sarah's acting was much better in that moment, so she covered it all.

Personally I liked David's tears and the way he held her and kissed her shoulder...like he hadn't seen her in months, exactly what Angel felt. But yeah Sarah is remarkable when it comes to Bangel scenes(and she is in general remarkable as Buffy) cause she REALLY feels!!!
She REALLY cries, she really loves that ship, she really feels passion about it. When I see her cry I cry as well cause she acts greatly but also I think that she takes it personally and I love her for this!!!
And David is great as Angelus, he actually showed us that he has a great talent!!! As Angel he has evolved much and in his own show he portrayed many different emotions and situations. I love him in both roles!
And about passion...of course Bangel wasn't ALL about passion...I mean it started with flirting, went on with deep feelings, love and passion. Most importantly it contained INSPIRATION for one another. But whenever I see them together, maybe it's because of the very good acting, Sarah/Buffy has that look on her face, like she is looking at a treasure, sth really precious and beloved. And she is looking at Angel like this in every season. Angel does that as well. And in Gd Day pt 2, we clearly saw how their passion and sexual tension burst out with a bite:biggrin: , a vampire's kiss.

Ok, this thread is called "Bangel thread"...so I want to ask the opinion of Bangel fans or other ship fans if they wish to answer, about some general matters about Angel , Buffy and her relationships.
I will not turn this into spuffy/bangel battleship but I need to express some opinions.
Lately I have been reading either here or on the net, about bangel not having enough passion or being the high school flirt and that Buffy grew up and decided that spike and her share a "more adult" relationship.
I just want to support bangel for something. How can they say there is not enough passion? I mean in "Surprise" or "IWRY" or so many other episodes...have they seen how they look each other?That they barely hold their hands off each other? and certainly...the sexual relationship can not be compared cause Angel and Buffy had one night. Spike carries no curse and him and Buffy had a very different relationship. So, no comparison there.
And why is spuffy the more adult relationship? Because Buffy was so messed up and decided to use someone for "Fun?" and "feel sth"?
Also, I am also really curious why everyone says that by the the time of Chosen, Buffy and Angel don't know each other anymore! BIG mistake! yeah they do! They have evolved as personalities but they still know each other!

When they wanted to turn Bangel into something more, so Buffy lost his virginity to Angel on her 17th Birthday. People didn't liked that, they said it was too much for High School girl who is in the relathionship with 200 years old demon. True fans didn't mind that, but if you want to keep show running, you have to respect opinions of people who watch it. Then, they really kinda turned it into High School relathionship, they broke up a lot when he turned from Hell, they went to cinema, they had Prom fight, everything High School couples have. But I think to Joss was important to fans not forget what Bangel truly is.. one of the most beautiful and mature relathionship on tv. Because Buffy was mentally strong and old. She wasn't that young, I mean there are girls who have sex who are much younger then Buffy was. Their relathionship had to end because of buisness, let's face it, it wasn't because Angel was wrong for Buffy. They was just an excellent excuse. If David never showed his acting skills he would stay with Buffy till end as her boyfriend or just friend, or he would be killed off.
But, to be honest, I don't remember anyone talking about rough sex between Buffy and Spike. What, she was 21? Years again. It was disgusting. It doesn't matter how old she is. But then it became normal, because when Spike and Buffy were couple rough sex on screen was something tv buisness found normal.

As for the passion thing, here's my take on it... Bangel was arguably a very passionate 'ship. But people often disregard that, because Bangel's image, Bangel's nature, was more of an innocent and romantic yet tragic first love, not some wild crazy passion thing. 😀 First loves often aren't about passion, they're about discovering what you want in a relationship and what love is. Yes, they can be very passionate, but the older and "wiser" 'ships, the less innocent ones, are usually the one's that get the "passionate" title.
Of course, Bangel not being known as "passionate" suits me fine, I like my bangel sweet and innocent, like freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Sugary love. 🙂 I wouldn't be happy if Buffy and Angel were having sex all the time, I think that it would take away that sexy UST thing that they have. 😀
Spuffy is considered that more "adult-like" relationship because, imo, they knew what they were getting into. Bangel was more of a blind love. Buffy even said "All I see is you! All I want is you." Whereas with Spike, Buffy saw more of the big picture. "No, I don't see fat grandchildren in the offing with Spike." She could see the future more, and had a greater understanding of life and love itself. She was wiser and more mature, therefore her relationships would reflect on that. They were the Second Love, and by most people's standards, that makes them the wiser love. 🙂 Not necessarily the BETTER love, but the wiser one. Both have loved and lost, and they are more into "The greater good." More or less, obviously this explanation doesn't cover EVERYTHING. 😀
This quote from SMG really describes it... "The thing about Buffy and Spike is they understand each other on a level that nobody else does. They've both lived a hundred lives and I think there's a connection there that we will see evolve over the next couple of years where she realizes that he really is someone that she can trust, someone that's a companion to her and someone that really understands her unlike anybody else."
As for not knowing each other anymore... Well, here's my thoughts: Buffy and Angel will always know a part of each other better than anybody else EVER will. Always. But after living separate lives for so many years, both have grown to be MUCH different people with different priorities and experiences who the other really doesn't know anymore. As I said, they will always know a part of the other, but the actual person has changed a lot. You don't automatically always know a person just because you knew them once. 🙂 As Angel said in Sanctuary, they're not a part of each others' lives, and they don't know each other anymore. And I believe that.
But, in the end, I believe that they WILL meet again, under better circumstances of course, get to know the other again, reacquaint themselves, fall back in love with the person that the other has become, and finally have things go right for them. 🙂 They may have changed, but Buffy and Angel will always be the right person for the other.

^ As i said you are definitely right(I am referring to PB). Certainly there are many girls who choose to have sex with their boyfriends in a much younger age, and for totally different reasons. Buffy loved him and he loved her. It happened. And if the curse didn't exist they would wake up together,feeling perfectly complete. I was never bothered by that night no matter what my personal beliefs are.
Yeah,maybe it's the tv industry that it's at fault. I have said before that I wouldn't mind spuffy really so much, if they were just two happy people who decided to have sex for fun. But this wasn't fun. And it is not "mature".

Bangel, for me, is the most passionate ship. Seriously look at their kissing sessions, they cling to each other, they can't get enough of each other. There is nothing dispassionate or pedestrian about it. There were limits to what Bangel could do because of the curse so their passion isn't as obvious. If you want to see their passion then watch how they look at each other it is nearly always filled with longing and fire, look at how they fight for each other, watch as they do Tai Chi, how they spar, how Angel watches her sleep in the Prom with that goofy smile on his face, look at how Buffy refuses to watch her lover die. All of this is passion, just because they can't show it physically doesn't mean it isn't there.

Lol, I'm mentally debating whether or not I should share my infinite Spuffy knowledge (somebody really needs to get some soap and sponges to wash this spuffy outta my brain!) with you guys...

Ok, Spuffy: There are very good reasons for why Spuffy fans believe that Spike knew Buffy better, and a lot of that has to do with the fact that they started off as enemies, something that Bangel never really had. Yes, they had Angelus, but Buffy usually liked to act like that whole Angelus thing was over and never to happen again. 🙂
Anyway, by starting off as sworn enemies, Spike got to see Buffy as what she was: A powerful and deadly young girl, a slayer. He fought her, and he almost won. He understood her physical strengths and weaknesses.
Next, in S3 we see that he has an unusual perception of both Buffy and Angel. Spike can read Buffy better than even Angel can, and he tells it to her like it is. 😀
In S4 they become allies, and he practically joins the SG, which makes him closer to Buffy's friends. Buffy's friends are what makes Buffy so strong, so that's important knowledge to keepsake.
In S5 it drops to unrequited love, and Spike becomes the guy that befriends her little sister, almost dies for her, and so forth, and she learns that she can trust him. They become more or less friends, and he helps her through a psychologically difficult time in her life.
In S6 he gets to see her rough, dangerous, and more "Sexy" side. At the same time, he was also seeing the worst of her, the most degrading time of her life.
In S7, they became best friends, worked together, cared about each other, and loved each other, whether as friends or whoever knows what. They inspired each other to be better people, and, most importantly, as Spike said in Touched, "I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you, and I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman. You're the one, Buffy."

1. Probably not. 🙂 Like Willow, I'm not really a dater... And, just sayin', Angel is SO not my type. (Of course, neither is Spike, Riley, Xander, or pretty much any other guy on the show. (sw) )
2. Hm, I don't really think so. Why? Because it wouldn't be Bangel for me. It would be some other couple. IMO, part of Bangels appeal is the whole equally powerful Slayer and Vampire love story, and if Buffy was still that superficial brat, it just wouldn't be the same. 🙂 But who knows, it could have turned into some awesome Cangel-ific thing. 😀
3. Hm... Nah. Again, the whole Vamp-Slayer dynamic, and I like them as superheroes. 😀
4. Probably S1, it had this really adorable, sweet, mysterious, and funny thing about it that's oh-so-charming. 😀 The other seasons were fantastic as well, but you just gotta love the lack of drama and angst in that Season. (sw)
5. Nah, there's room for only one hot chick with super powers on Ats, and that's Cordy. (Once she gets demonified, anyway) Besides, Bangel wouldn't have lasted on the show, and Buffy would've ended up dying, just like every other female on the show. Still, it would've been nice to see a Cordy/Buffy 'ship. (sw)
6/7: Maybe, but I doubt it. Joss hates happily-ever-after. And I wouldn't want them to, I'd prefer the ending of her going out with the Core Four, the ones who have always been there, from the beginning to the end. I don't believe that anybody else should have the honor of going out with her. Besides, friendship love (and only friendship) is always stronger than romantic love. Always. 🙂

Do you mean if I was Buffy as in that I, being who I am, had the chance to date Angel or do you mean if I was Buffy Summers and Kean didn't exist, would I date him?
If it was me being me, then no. I'm fairly sure I'd be his best friend though.
If I was Buffy Summers, then Hell yes!

Buffy doesn't love Angel because he is a vamp and he didn't love her because she was the slayer, so to answer the question, yes.

Toss up between two and three. Two would probably win it simply because it is my favourite season overall.
5. Would you have like for Buffy to join the cast of Ats? Why or why not?
As an alternate to season 6? Absolutely. Two reasons : 1) There is nothing on this planet that can convince me that Angel wasn't the person that Buffy really needed when she came back from Heaven. 2) I would love to see Buffy with the new, vision improved Cordy. I am equally convinced they would have been best friends, given the chance to really know each other.
6. Do you believe that they will end up together in the end?
I know it.
I don't think it will be with a white picket fence in the suburbs. I think their feelings for each other will be reaffirmed and they will go out in battle, shoulder to shoulder.

Buffy doesn't love Angel because he is a vamp and he didn't love her because she was the slayer, so to answer the question, yes.

Toss up between two and three. Two would probably win it simply because it is my favourite season overall.

As an alternate to season 6? Absolutely. Two reasons : 1) There is nothing on this planet that can convince me that Angel wasn't the person that Buffy really needed when she came back from Heaven. 2) I would love to see Buffy with the new, vision improved Cordy. I am equally convinced they would have been best friends, given the chance to really know each other.
6. Do you believe that they will end up together in the end?
I know it.
I don't think it will be with a white picket fence in the suburbs. I think their feelings for each other will be reaffirmed and they will go out in battle, shoulder to shoulder.

1. If you were Buffy, would you choose to date Angel?
Angel is very nice and kind and despite the fact he lacks social skills(which is adorable!!!) he only has eyes for the woman he loves and around her he tries to be the man she deserves. So why not? 🙂 (of course I don't think my parents would share the same opinion...but if I was the Slayer,facing death every day, a brooding guy wouldn't kill me!)

Yeah, cause Buffy has proved that even without her powers she is still a strong independent woman, capable of holding her ground. And besides, Angel idolised Buffy before he saw her fighting!

Yeah. Cause some people are just perfect for each other. Their souls match no matter their "occupation"(slayer, vampire, human!)

Season 2...although I really love season 3. Cause they got to know each other, they loved each other and they "completed" that love. In season 3, it was already known and I could feel it, that they loved each other. They were trying to stay away from each other but they couldn't. In season 2 , without knowledge of the curse everything was PERFECT.
5. Would you have like for Buffy to join the cast of Ats? Why or why not?
Not permanently. I would like both of them to do crossovers more often. Like in season 6 of Buffy and season 5 of Angel. Now each has a solitary mission and they both have their teams for that. In the end I would like to see them together of course!

Whether Joss wants it or not, their souls complement one another .They will always long for each other. I don't know what kind of ending Buffy will have, but I think she will be with Angel.

Not really. I like seeing some episodes about other Angel or Buffy centric couples, but I have come to one conclusion: Full happiness can only be achieved when they are together. Sorry, but that's how I feel and I think that's also how both Buffy and Angel feel. Nothing ever worked better than Bangel. If the curse wasn't there they would have been together forever.

I don't read many AU stories. Some are good, cause I am a hopeless romantic. They are together and they have kids!!!:biggrin3:

I am saying this cause loving Bangel came so natural to me. I could see them, I could feel them. The love IS there. And I will repeat what I constantly say about them: They fit perfectly.They complement each other in every way. I have never seen them so happy, only when they are together they achieve that.
