Bangel vs. Spuffy/ James vs. David

I was in another thread (the fanatic one) earlier and I got this idea but then forgot about it and now I remember it... so I'm wondering how much of an effect your opinions of James and David have on you opinions about Bangel vs. Spuffy. From "I find this guy more physically attractive than the other" to "I like him better as an actor." So here's a poll.

I'm a total Spuffy and I think James is more attractive and generally more likeble. I also think he's a better actor than David.
 
I'm spuffy and I love David better. James is wonderful and sexy and a great actor. However I find David personally more attractive and I enjoy watching him act more. I love him as Angel, who is one of my favorite characters, and I love him in Bones.
 
I ship Bangel over Spuffy, when it comes to James vs David, honestly I haven't really seen much of them outside the show in like interviews and stuff, but I think David is really hot, especially when he wears those wifebeaters 😀 yum

I put that I ship Spuffy (though I ship both) and I like them both the same. My only addendum to that is that We see David more in the spotlight and on interviews, so we get to see David's personality more than James', but they're both REALLY funny, down to earth people. 🙂

You're not watching the right interviews. Watch some clips from conventions. You'll see James' personality shine
I ship Bangel and I think David is hotter. James may have a more fun personality, but I hardly ever see interviews with either of them, so I don't know. 🙂
 
While I have a clear preference in ships (and if you even need to ask which one that is, you're obviously very new to BB 😛), I don't have one about the actors. I do find James easier on the eyes (I've always been blind to DB's alleged hotness... with JM at least I see where people are coming from, there, lol), but I don't mind either of them.
 
I ship Bangel and I LOVE David.

I have nothing against James, he's certainly not hard on the eyes and he is a talented actor; but when he is standing next to DB I don't even notice him 🙂
 
I'm a Bangel fan, and I like David more. That's probably because I know about his work, and I've seen him in almost every single role he's been in, and about James I know nothing..
 
I don't think it's any secret around here that I ship Bangel always have always will. lol I followed DB in three television series. That says a lot. 🙂
 
I like both characters in the context of where and when they shared a part of Buffy's life. I also like Angel with Cordy, with Darla, and with Nina, and Spike with Dru and his relationships with Joyce, Dawn, Fred, and Illyria, though neither of them included any kind of romantic undertones.

As for why I prefer Spuffy to Bangel, I simply see it as the more mature relationship. Bangel, with all of its tearful declarations of undying love from a young girl who has no real idea what a lasting relationship really is, just got boring quickly, and evolved into irritable eventually. We've seen time and again that whenever Buffy and Angel get together, disaster quickly comes calling, and that's just not the basis for anything even closely resembling a happy relationship in my book.

That's not saying that Buffy and Spike have had smooth sailing in their relationship, but they at least seem to have progressed to the point that they can be together for more than 3 consecutive episodes without putting the world in jeopardy. Obviously, they weren't like that in the beginning, but whereas Buffy and Angel have progressed over the years from good to bad, Buffy and Spike seem to have gone in just the opposite direction.
 
If I shipped Buffy/Angel any harder than I already do, I'd probably sprain something. And Angel was my first character crush ever, possibly even before Mr. Darcy, and no other character crush comes close even now (though Castiel almost managed to when I first got into Supernatural last summer). I adore him to bits. And as lots of people know by now, I'm very much not a Spike fan. However, the actors aren't the characters. Even though I find David way more attractive than James, and I'd much rather be watching him on TV (he's why I started watching Bones, after all, even though at first it was so weird for me to see him as not-Angel that I could barely get through a single episode), James seems to care about the Buffyverse more and hasn't done anything to make me lose my respect for him, so for that, I like him better.

I ship Spuffy and I like James better. David is way attractive and all...but I think James is too and he's a better actor. I've also seen a lot of convention videos of James...I like the things he has to say! 😀
 
I 'ship Spuffy, and I prefer James; however, that's not because I like James as much as because I really don't agree with David's actions in his personal life. Obviously, we don't know him, and therefore it's best to not assume, but it was made quite obvious that he's a cheater. That's a terrible reflection of his character.

I ship Spuffy but like them both the same on terms of acting skill. I think they're both wonderful actors. I didn't bother factoring looks into my vote, but if anyone is curious, it would be James for me. 😉
 
I ship Spuffy and I like James better. Like what Orianna said, David Boreanaz doesn't seem very stable in his personal life seeing as he recently cheated on his wife when she was pregnant with their second child. I don't know him as a person so I don't know if he's mean or nice, but from what I've heard about him, he doesn't seem to make good choices.
 
I thought it was a hard choice but essentially I came down on the side of liking David better. I think they're both good actors on Btvs an Ats but outside of those shows I haven't seen James Marsters in a single part where he convinced me that he had acting skills. Where as DB I've seen in plenty of things where I find him very convincing.
