All three seasons are available in the internet on various, probably illegal, sites. You just have to look for it.

The show definitely isn't for everyone, and if very graphic violence, language that belongs in a Marine boot camp, and lots of sex/nudity bother you, then you shouldn't watch it. I spent 13 weeks in a Navy boot camp, so the language doesn't phase me, and the violence consists primarily of some extremely well choreographed fight scenes. Most of the sex and nudity are purely gratuitous, but if you don't care for it, that's a perfect time to go and fix more popcorn.

The premise of the series, a notorious thief taking the identity of the town's newly appointed sheriff, is totally unbelievable, as are the cast of characters, and the majority of the individual episodes.

The amazing thing is, the cast and crew manage to pull all of that together and present a really great show that has you hanging on every episode, cursing the 12 week seasons and counting the weeks until the next season starts.

The producer has been hinting ever since the end of Season 3 that the series had only a season or two left in order to tell the entire story, so the cancellation isn't a real surprise. Still, one more season after the next one would have been nice.

Also every character seems stereotypical. That was the problem I had with it. And I DID try watching it again.. I got further but still it seemed very weak to me.

Just about everything's a stereotype these days. There hasn't been anything truly original in the movies or on TV in decades. I can't remember the title of the movie at the moment, but I remember an old "B" Western from my childhood that had, minus all the sex, nudity, and profanity, almost the exact same plot as "Banshee," including characters with similar histories. Just substitute Audie Murphy for Hood, Virginia Mayo for Carrie, and Dan Duryea for Sugar, and you've got the same story.

This is a shame.
Banshee Season 3 is the first time I really started to get intrigued by Hood's character. It was the strongest season so far actually, it seemed like one of those shows that got a bit more sure of itself the more it went on.

And yeah, I think Eliza will fit right in. But I'm not sure how big her parts going to be anyway. The death rate on that show is pretty high.

I thought I heard she was supposed to be a reoccurring character only. And seriously? It took three seasons to find the character interesting? I'm glad I stopped watching.
 
I can live with this.
Really like the show and they could probably do another season or so and still be decent but it kinda feels like a good time to end it now imho.

Apparently they knew about it in time to do a proper ending which is good to hear.

Given the fact that just about every eligible female female who has ever been on the show has wound up in Hood's bed at least once, and Eliza's mention of her "barebutt scene," I think the conclusion is inevitable. Maybe she and Hood will hook up and go away together at the end of the season, the way that he wanted to do with Sioban.

The silver lining in the cloud of cancellation is that we will finally get to know Hood's real name, since the producer promised that it would be revealed in the finale. Hopefully, it isn't something like "Clarence Snodgrass," or even worse.

Well, for me it did. Maybe not for other people. I wanted to know about Hood's dad, his upbringing and who shaped him into the guy he was. We only start to get into that in S3. Beforehand he's just 'really angry ex-con being a really unconvincing sheriff'.

I suspect that's what their going for- troubled FBI profiler and troubled sheriff guy hooking up. But I think the end game is him and Sioban- I don't think it should be that because of all the damage they've left in their wake (even unintentional damage), it would be wrong if they both got a happy ending with each other. Too many bodies.

Better would be if Hood sacrifices himself for the woman he loves, being a bad ass hero at the same time. That could work.

Given the decades between then and now, I can't be sure of the actual movie title, but Murphy's name, for some odd reason, I do recall, and it was "Joe Maybe," shortened from "Joe, May's Boy," referring to the dance hall girl who had named and raised the nameless orphan.
